Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. I want to be fair and acknowledge that SeaWorld cannot control the weather. I completely understand that safety comes first when there is lightning in the area. However, the way situations were handled — especially for guests travelling from out of town — was incredibly frustrating. On our first visit, we spent over an hour waiting in line for a ride, only for it to shut down when we were literally one group away from boarding. Nobody communicated what was happening, and we stood there confused until another guest mentioned there was a weather delay. After already spending nearly two hours trying to figure out what to do in the park, this was frustrating enough. We went to Guest Services and explained that we were visiting from Canada and leaving on a cruise the next day. We understood the “no refund” policy, but a replacement ticket wasn’t very useful considering we had no idea when we would ever return to Florida. Unfortunately, there was no flexibility or accommodation offered beyond another ticket. After our cruise, we decided to return on May 11 so the money wouldn’t go completely to waste. Sadly, the second visit was not much better. My wife waited in line with our daughter for Penguin Trek after the app showed a 25-minute wait. They ended up waiting well over an hour, only for the ride to shut down again right before boarding because of lightning in the area — despite it being bright and sunny where we were. Again, I understand safety procedures, but wasting almost two hours on a single ride due to inaccurate wait times and sudden shutdowns was frustrating. The app itself was consistently inaccurate throughout the day. Wait times were often two, three, or even four times longer than what was being shown, making it difficult to plan anything. We also purchased the All-Day Dining package, which ended up being another disappointment. At one restaurant, the smash burger and fries were extremely dry, and when we politely explained that our meal should have included dessert, the employee became combative and acted like she didn’t believe us. The overall attitude from several staff members throughout the park felt unfriendly and unhelpful, whether we were asking questions, trying to find locations, or ordering food. Beyond that, the park itself just didn’t feel particularly well maintained. Bathrooms were not very clean, and overall guest service fell far below expectations for a major attraction like this. For local visitors, maybe getting a replacement ticket works fine. But for families travelling internationally or from out of state, there should really be some sort of reasonable accommodation or refund option when weather closures significantly impact the experience. Expecting guests to simply lose their money or come back “another day” isn’t realistic for many travelers. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially considering the cost. Unfortunately, after two attempts, we would not choose to visit SeaWorld again.
