At Rod’s Alaskan Guide Service, Jimmy’s friendliness, skill and, of course, his dogs, made our Alaskan sledding a magical experience.

A “must do” Alaska experience!
If you come to the Fairbanks area in the winter, this is a “must do” experience. Our musher, Emma L., was great - friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. You could tell she really loved her team. We had an amazing time and our 30 minute trip was over much too soon. The business, RAGS, provided snow pants, boots, neck covers, and gloves, if needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Amazing experience!
I went ice fishing on my make a wish trip. Mike was our guide and he made it feel like home. He made sure to thoroughly go over everything before we started and taught us things we never knew. Coming from Mississippi, we didn’t know what to expect, but we were experts by the end of the trip! Mike worked hard to make sure we were warm and even drilled some ice holes for us outside of the cabin to experience the true Alaskan way of fishing. He’s a great chef by the way! We had reindeer sausage along with plenty of fish to eat. Mike definitely knows what he’s doing!

Dog sled
We took the bus from Fairbanks to Santa Claus House and an Uber to Rod's Alaskan Adventures. People there made sure we had the necessary clothing to stay warm and walked us through what we were to experience. Laura was our musher. She introduced us to each of the dogs and gave us time to interact with them. She allowed me to video the run and she took several pictures of us on the run. We had a great time. It was difficult getting an Uber back to the Santa Claus House. Tried 4 times. Then 3 or 4 taxis to find someone available. Gene, our driver got us back just in time to catch the bus. Would definitely do this again.

Great experience with Joe and his dogs
We had a great trip with Joe who was really friendly and also told us a lot of interesting facts about his dogs. We had a really fun time and it was a once in a lifetime experience. Definitely worth it.

Bucket list
The sledding adventure was fantastic. The dogs were so well trained and owned by our musher, Luther. He was great. Highly recommend the dog sledding but definitely go for the longer ride. So worth it

We had a great time with Mike. Great guide and great cook! We learned a lot and heard great stories. We would definitely do it again.

Awesome Mushing through Fairbanks
We rode with Jimmy’s dogs, some beautiful black Alaskan dogs! You can tell Jimmy loves his pups and the ride was awesome and really fun! Thanks for the great ride 😁

We had the best time! We’re from Minnesota and frequently ice fish but we wanted to try a different kind of catch and have nothing but good memories from this experience

Incredible Dog Sledding Adventure!
OMG, what an amazing team of dogs—so full of energy and excitement! The musher was super friendly, introducing each pup and sharing their unique personalities (seriously, they all have their own little quirks!). And the best part? We got to pet them! Such an unforgettable experience. Another bucket list dream—✔️ checked off in the best way possible!

Each trip is different and you may not catch any fish. The guide makes all the difference, if you have any OK experience or a GREAT experience!

Dog Mushing for the Win!
What a fun outing we had today...dog mushing with Rod's Alaskan Guide Service. Joe Weber was our musher and he and his dogs were terrific. We learned all about the dogs and the sport of mushing. It was also a big bonus to be provided with boots, jackets, bibs...everything one would need to stay warm. I would definitely recommend Dog Mushing when you come visit Fairbanks and ask for Joe!
