The Polynesian Center messed up our booking and cancelled our tickets last minute. Now we can't get tickets to the luau so our kids will miss out on this experience.

This is an absolute must do if you are visiting Oahu! Came with my husband and 4 kids ages 17-9; it was everyone’s favorite thing we did on the island! Every staff member is kind and professional and I can tell they want everyone to have the best experience possible. It was pouring rain the day we were there, and all workers remained in great spirits and performed at 100%. We did a self guided tour which worked great for us- we liked going at our own pace. The gateway buffet was incredible! The best buffet food we’ve ever had. So many options and everything we had was delicious. Do not miss the Ha Breath of Life show! It’s everything you are hoping to see- hula dancing, the haka, amazing fire dancers. 10/10 would recommend the PCC. Can’t wait to come again.

Despite the pouring rain - we were able to ‘go inside’ in large areas to learn about the Polynesian cultures - very interesting, especially the music and dancing demonstrations. The ‘village’ has beautiful water features throughout. A must see. The pass gives you access for three days which is a bonus!!

Exceptional learning facility! The BYU students from each of the 6 islands shared their music, joyful dancing, food (I now have a delicious coconut bread recipe), art, games (actually warrior skill practices), weaving, fishing and so much more that I was not able to enjoy it all. The ticket did include a couple more days to come back and walk around on your own, but they do not open until noon and I had to check out of the hotel across the street by 11a. My tour guide, Lesa, was wonderful + shared working on his grandparents farm with his large family. I especially enjoyed learning how the boys on one island did all the cooking for their families and that Tonga has remained an independent nation. I ate at the buffet and there were so many different Polynesian entrées, sides, + desserts that even taking a small taste of everything filled me up quickly. It was so nice they had provided a pamphlet showing a list of what was available.

As the Kona Storm moved in we didn't get to experience all the Ohana. God Speed to North Shore and all those affected

Wife and I went here some time ago. We went on the bus from another hotel real early in the morning and came back after the show Breath of life at night. What a beautiful wonderful day there didn't have to drive that was great. This was well worth the money lots of walking lots of interaction with each station and a boat parade and the food was excellent. Really really nice place.

Although we had fun, we felt that exhibits were missing many key aspects of culture. Little about religion, beliefs and rituals were presented which was likely because some of those conflict with LDS views. We found it rather underhanded to book a very expensive tour only to find out that it was being operated by a church; this made a lot of it feel like cultural appropriation. We were not amused with the mural at the buffet depicting latter day prophets. We were hoping for truly authentic presentations of the cultures and felt much was watered down or omitted. The Breath of Ha was very good, but again, the subtle infusion of LDS belief was not great.

I wish we had more time! We were only here for one day and were not able to see a lot of stuff at the islands. The gateway buffet was excellent. The show was really good, a little long for our young kids, and the seats are quite uncomfortable. I would consider bringing some kind of pad to sit on. The fire portion of the show toward the end is by far my favorite, it is epic!

I remember liking this place as a kid. Having come back as an adult, 15 years later, the experience is definitely not the same. It’s essentially Polynesian Disneyland without the rides or other things that make Disney magical. Everything presented here is pretty and flashy, but content is all very sanitized. You leave with truly no idea what these cultures are about aside from a few flashy dances, which are definitely a portion of their culture but there’s so much more that’s missing! This is really just a glorified display for tourists that don’t care about a truly genuine experience. We went to the bishop museum in Honolulu the day after and felt like we learned much more about the cultures, history, and people in one exhibit than we did here the whole day - definitely regretted the visit after that. There’s also religious undertones with all the content, with it funding the nearby Mormon church. The end of day show was truly kind of boring for an atheist, being centred about the miracle of life and having no interesting storyline aside from that. There was a small fire spinning display for the last few minutes, and the rest was just traditional dance in modernized, flashy outfits. The luau was kind of sad, food wasn’t good and the shows at the luau was less interesting than the rest of the day. Highlight of the day was really just a few exceptional staff making entertaining displays and conversation at a few location during the day.
