First of all, great performance by the artists. A very noble cause by the foundation. However the reason I have a low rating for the show was due to the expectation settings. I was under the impression that this was a circus but it was more of a play than a circus. Second, the show was about the khmer rouge , a sad chapter of Cambodia history. While they had done a good job at it unfortunately I was expecting a cheerful jolly circus show. I would like to believe that maybe I was not aware of the performances and somehow may have missed the play details while planning. If you would like to support a noble cause, sure go for it. If you won't just like to have a fun evening, just check which performance is planned for that day and make a call.

Mixed feelings about the whole evening and the circus experience. Overall as to what this company stands for and the work it does to elevate the lives of many is absolutely commendable and it's a model to be followed and taken advantage of in many parts of the world. But where it fell flat for me was the actual performance itself. The talent was great, the show was somewhat entertaining (even though the tricks and comic strips felt repetitive), but I felt it missed the mark on the essence of reflecting Cambodia; be it stories, history or the arts. The Cambodian essence was more like a camouflage than actually taking it a few notched deeper into displaying it in it's full glory. It should have been a celebration of everything Cambodian through the medium of circus. But it felt like a circus performance 'dressed' as Cambodian. I am not asking for an Apsara performance on stage. It's just that the modern and tradition needed to be balanced more, be more unapologetically Cambodian. Let the 'Cambodian' shine more than the acrobatics. I have to mention that I thoroughly enjoyed the pre-performances done by the young kids. One negative experience would be on how the staff were at and around the Cafe area Felt that they weren't as warm as one would expect them to be. Also, I asked for coffee from one of the staff members and I was told that the cafe doesn't serve it. I didnt think much of it, but then I noticed another person get coffee and when I went and I requested it from another staff member at the Cafe, it was available. Not sure why this happened. Overall, I think there is potential that needs to be explored more for it to be a full-fledged memorable evening.
