TERRIBLE SERVICE. Please dont do a helicopter tour with them. There are many other better tours nearby! I have traveled to more than 90 countries so I have been on a lot of tours and this has been the WORST service experience. Jennifer who attended us was extremely rude and condescending.

Don’t trust these guys. They promise the world and under deliver. My girlfriend and I were referred to this company by a friend. I have to admit, Derrick our pilot was fantastic. It’s the staff in the background that f..d it up for us. I booked the tour 3 weeks ago and told them that my girlfriend and I were going to be in town to mark our first anniversary. We asked for front seats in the helicopter which were an upgrade of $50 each. To be honest I would have paid $100 each if they would have guaranteed them to us. The agent on the phone said, “it shouldn’t be a problem” and she’ll go ahead and add that request to our reservation. I also told them that my girlfriend is a vegetarian. They said “no problem” and she would request a vegetarian meal for the picnic portion of our tour. I called to confirm our reservation yesterday as they recommend doing and made mention of both requests again. Again I was told no problem. We arrived at the terminal this morning and were checked in for our flight. I mentioned for the third time both requests. The agent told me that he’s going to weigh us and make sure the helicopter would balance properly and it’s no problem. Seems to be the theme of this tour “no problem”. We arrive at the helicopter with the pilot and were told to sit in the back seat. I told the pilot that we had reserved the front seats a few weeks ago. He went on to tell me “sorry, these people paid for them already. I was so upset but I let it go. Then we arrived at the landing area of the canyon and were served our picnic lunch. I asked the pilot for the vegetarian meal that we pre-arranged. He said sorry we don’t have one. So my gf basically ate some apple slices and went hungry for a 5 hour tour. I brought these concerns up with the agent upon returning to the terminal in Boulder City. He seemed to brush it off as a minor issue and went on to offer me a free photo. I was so offended. They didn’t seem to care at all. I will make sure that anybody I know who is considering doing a helicopter tour in Vegas/Grand Canyon to use a different company. My confidence in Papillion is gone and they simply can’t be trusted.

The experience itself was awesome. We did the Vegas strip tour which was very short but was a lot of fun. The Vegas Strip tour departs from their Las Vegas location which is considered their “VIP” location, which means they pick up passengers in a limo, it’s a nice and cozy location. A real special shoutout to Nathalie who helped us check in and walked us through the whole experience, she was very professional but she knew how to have fun while maintaining and upholding a high standard for the passengers. She was extremely friendly and welcoming and made us feel valued as customers and we felt incredibly honoured to have met her, she was real great! We would come back just for her! The only downside of the whole experience which was actually a very big deal, was the fact that you are not able to take pictures with the helicopters or outside on airside. The reason is because the company takes your picture for you before your ride, on a very old looking digital camera that seemed to take worse pictures than our cellphones, to sell to you at the end of the ride for a pricey $20. Honestly, the price is not a big deal, it’s the fact that it’s so expensive for such a rushed and grainy terrible quality picture. My girlfriend loves to take pictures but we got yelled out multiple times for attempting to take nicer pictures with the helicopters, even though we watched other people take photos with the helicopters and even the pilots, it was super frustrating and incredibly unfair. It ruined the whole experience for us, the inconsistency of that “no photo” rule. Something definitely needs to be done about this because we weren’t the only ones upset and disappointed about it watching others take photos while we sat on the bus and waited because we got yelled at earlier. All in all a very nice tour and experience just wish we didn’t get yelled out for trying to take photos and remember the moment to show friends and family. I don’t want to recommend this place to people who like to store memories through photos because you will not have anything to look back on except being yelled at, or a crappy quality photo that you paid $20-$30 for. If it wasn’t for Nathalie’s awesome customer service this rating would be lower, thanks Nathalie for looking after us!!

Book this tour. You won’t regret it. The pilots are paid hourly, not by flight hours which shows that the company cares about its staff). They’re professional, friendly and competent. Our bus tour driver Gigi and guide, Mr. Yang were excellent! Gigi was especially helpful and personable for me because I was the only American/English speaking person on the bus and made sure to make me feel included and comfortable! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Big thank you to the staff for making it awesome! I took the South Rim plane tour. Please ignore Hobo Moto’s negative review. It’s chalk full of inaccuracies. When you fly in via plane you land at a private strip and take a bus into the park and are dropped off and left to explore the most notable places.
