What a fantastic day complete with humour -filled informative tidbits on historical significance and one of a kind shared experiences by our guide Thierry. The castle tour was eye-opening and went well beyond the entertainment factor to give you a feel for it's historical and life-preserving significance. While imagining the comparative hardship of the many battles and territorial change of hand between the Alcacian, French, and Germans here, the area maintains cultural identities of each in the food, language, and observable traditions. Thierry made these unique differences easily identifiable and answered our group's questions with a mix of fun and sometimes stark reality, leaning more on the informative fun delivery. Then off to fairytale picturesque Villages with plenty unique picture opportunities and historical anecdotes to keep us more than busy. The eating establishments and cultural specifics are aplenty. Then the wine tasting, magnifique. This tour is unforgettable.

Petite France ist ein tolles Erlebnis - vor allem am Morgen, wenn die Touristenmassen noch nicht in der Stadt sind. Bei sonnigem Wetter sind die Spiegelungen der Fschwerkhäuser in der Ill sehr fotogen. Der Vauban-Damm ist ein beeindruckendes Bauwerk über den Fluß. Die Kathedrale sollte gleich morgens direkt nach Öffnung besucht werden, weil die Besichtigung dann in Ruhe stattfinden kann, und man hat einen ungestörten Blick auf die astronomische Uhr.

My husband and I booked this day tour “last minute” and we are SO happy we did. We wanted to “sit back and relax” as an expert took us from location to location, and explained a little history to us. We got way more than that! Wih Thierry as our guide, we had an amazing above and beyond experience. Thierry was an expert in many fields, a true wealth of knowledge. He was able to answer any questions that we may have, while also predicting questions that may arise and answering them before we could even ask. His guidance in the castle was superb compared to what we could’ve gotten via audio recorder or otherwise. His driving was extremely safe. His knowledge of the Alsace region was just, impressive. He is a very proud Alsatian (as he should be!) and we all fell in love with the towns he took us around. We’re so relieved we booked this tour or else we would’ve missed out on so much by just staying in Colmar. 10/10 highly recommend.
