We enjoyed the walking tour in the picturesque town of Sarlat today which was market day. Our guide Lena was charming and informative imparting details of Sarlats history and other interesting details. We had 3 sessions where we tasted the fois gras, cheeses and wines. It was truly a memorable morning.

Pascal was a very knowledgeable guide. His spoken English was very clear, he was animated, detailed and captivating with his dialog about the history of the Normandy area. Highly recommend this tour. Note: there are USB-A charge ports on the 19 person bus. Also, plan on parking at the train station by 6 Quebec Place. There are NO 8 hour parking places at the meeting spot. Book it, enjoy it!!!

We must commend Pascal for his knowledge of the D day landings which was exemplary. We have come away with an even greater understanding of the events that took place. If you are American, this is a brilliant tour for you. However, we were the only two British people on this particular visit and we would not recommend it to our family and friends. We fully appreciate it is advertised as ‘American D day sites’ and we wanted to see Omaha and Utah beaches but we came away with a feeling that the Americans won the war. By contrast when we left, we visited the British Normandy Memorial site and that is so worth a visit. It is beautiful and so dignified with the Giants in the wildflower fields. And what stood out for us was that every memorial plaque that told the events mentioned British and Allied Forces specifically stating every country that took part. It was a team of countries that won the war.

A perfect memory

Today we journeyed into the heart of the Bordeaux region, where time seems to have slowed. Our wine tour included a walk through the medieval village of Saint-Émilion —its cobblestone streets wound between ancient limestone buildings, ivy-covered walls… our tour included three vineyards wirh 3 wine tasting at each vineyard … ahh, and then lunch —The star: carbonara bianca—a rich, creamy white version of the classic Italian dish. Silken ribbons of pasta were bathed in a luscious sauce of cream, Parmesan, and tender bits of savory ham. It was indulgent, comforting, and utterly divine—Saint-Émilion gave us more than just fine wine—it gave us a perfect memory.

Great one day intro to Medoc

Our guide, Mathis, was knowledgeable and interesting. The van had microphone and speakers so everyone could hear his commentary. The 3 wineries offered quality and uniqueness. The 2 Grand Cru wines were exceptional.

Our family of 2 adults and 3 children went on the half day tour focused on the American Cemetery, Omaha Beach, and Pointe du Hoc. Matt, our tour guide, was one of the best guides we have ever had. His knowledge and passion engaged us all. My teenager said she wished we had done the full day tour. High Praise. We were on a small group tour, so there was only another couple with us. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. With kids this is a good length and the afternoon meant less crowds.

Got off train from Paris at 1:30 ok . We know nothing about this area.starting to walk around looking for these people did not find.someone should have met us at station . not happy at all with these people
