St. Emillion region wine tour
The day was lovely and weather perfect. We visited 1 winery before lunch. It was simple and good intro into the countryside and process. Wines were good. We tasted 4 wines at each of 3 stops. We went to St. Emilion for lunch but did not get much info or direction in the town. The town is very hilly and walking is very difficult. It is exceedingly charming and well worth the visit. Our guide was delightful but confessed she was new on the job. We did not get a lot of local information or just general information as we went along. More info on the wine country would have been interesting. As far as tourist info we discovered to our dismay that smaller towns do not accept American Express credit cards. We found that cash was still widely used. Overall the tour management was great and directions were clear and frequent. I would comfortably recommend this group and use them again. They were on time and well organized. Our small group was all English speaking and very compatible. Great job!

Viva la Beaune
We really enjoyed the wineries that Adam chauffeured us to in Pommard and Auxey-Duresses. The wines at Chateau de Melin and Domaine Coste-Caumartin were great and our hostesses were brilliant. A great tour.

Great half day at Chambord
We enjoyed our private tour with Charlene. She was very informative, personable, and so patient. We had a million questions and she answered them all. There were large groups everywhere and it was nice to have her to ourselves. The pickup and drop off at our hotel made everything so easy. A half day was perfect for our mobility level.

What a wonderful wine tour!! Our group leader Myriam was so knowledgeable about the wine and the region and kept us all engaged. The wineries we visited were great as well -- such amazing wine and experienced sommeliers. The tastings were generous and had good variety. I loved the small group setting; it made for a better overall experience. The tour was also very punctual, which is always appreciated. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get a taste of the regions wine without renting a car!

What a lovely day . Florence our guide was simply so patient and did not rush us one bit . A group with 2 young handful boys who were an absolute delight with their chatter and questions , 2 elderly guests but she managed us all with ease and lots of care. Thankyou Florence would recommend going with Florence for the black forest tour which was so relaxing and well paced.

Thus was quite possibly the best tour we’ve ever taken! Victor was so well studied in the war and the D-day battles, he was able to answer every question before we even asked it!! Amazing tour. Highly recommend!!

Tour guide Victor/Vic was very informative, enthusiastic. He is very knowledgeable & loves to share. It meant more having a guide to explain what, where & when events happened at the Normandy D-day sites. Plus local information not found in books. I recommend Vic & this tour. 🙂

Wonderful day in the left bank!
Wondering day tasting wines in the left bank, Medoc area. We also were able to see a variety of chateaus and our guide helped us choose a lovely restaurant for a quick lunch (not included in the price, but there were many good options for a quick lunch). Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Best decision to take this tour!
Carlos was an outstanding guide. We covered a lot of ground, leaving Strasbourg just after 9 am and visiting much of Alsace. Carlos was friendly, accommodating, and knew his history extremely well. He is multilingual, which came in handy on the tour. We decided to do this tour at the last minute, and it was a great decision. We left with lasting memories of a beautiful and historic part of France.

Great small group - Solo/Couples
This was a great tour Amelie gave history facts and stories while we were going to and from the different destinations. This helped give us a sense of what to expect and when we arrived we got tours of all the city’s interest areas and plenty of time to go back and visit museums and explore the city. Great views and hidden scenic views for pictures!

A unforgettable experience exploring the Alsace region!
Ever since I read about it in a textbook when I was a teen, I've always wanted to visit the magical Alsace region and see the picturesque half-timbered houses. My husband and I did this experience as part of our honeymoon and it was one my favorite days of the entire trip! Roxanne was our guide. She was really friendly and knowledgeable. She shared really interesting facts throughout the entire day. Through her, I learned about the history of all these villages, as well as local food and drinks of the region. It was also cool to learn about which movies have drawn inspiration from the Alsace region of France, like Howl's Moving Caste (Colmar) and Beauty and the Beast (Riquewihr). The drive was absolutely gorgeous and scenic. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience and I would highly recommend to anyone who is considering it.

I only wish we had more time
I couldn't have asked for a more knowledge, thorough, passionate and experienced tour guide. My husband and I are big WWII buffs and (because of our limited time in Normandy) had considered doing a self-guided tour of Normandy. We are so grateful that we went with this tour and lucky enough to have Matt as a guide. He was knowledgeable beyond any source we'd be able to get our hands on. The stories told were well representative, authentic, and honored all countries of the War. I only wish we could have taken a full day tour with him. To top it off, we happen to be at the Normandy American Cemetery during the 81st anniversary of D-Day ceremony that was attended by 23 WWII veterans. I truly cannot believe how lucky we were to witness this once in a lifetime experience. In addition, the customer service provided through Ophorus was very responsive and accommodating to my family's needs. Should I have the opportunity to come back to Normandy, I'd most definitely book a tour through them again!

Guy, our tour guide was excellent throughout our full day trip to St Emillion. He was not only fluent in French (and his native English) but clearly knew the area and its history very well. Guy added value throughout and we can’t praise him enough for making it a memorable day for us.
