Burgundy Villages & Wine Tour

This is not a wine tour as the title says!! I was disappointed to find out that it was only a wine tasting at the end of the day. This is false advertising as I picture my day going to various villages wine makers and talking about wine! This is not a wine tour at all. The guide was super nice and knowledgeable about the villages we visited but it is not at all what I expected. Also we were dropped off for lunch and the two restaurants we were recommended rejected us saying they were full. I was really hoping to sample boeuf bourguignon but was rudely turned away twice! I eventually found a kebab place to fill the hole!! There was no way of communicating with the guide while I was literally hunting for my lunch which was also frustrating. Again this is false advertising as it definitely was not a wine tour!!

a good tour

Carlos was a good driver and guide; man, he knows a lot about wines and grape production. My fellow passengers and I were not impressed, however, by the fact that the main office sold tickets to 2 people at 9:00 - the start time of the tour. We had all made a good effort to be at the meeting place by 8:50 as stated and then we had a 20 min wait for the newbies to arrive. This cut into our overall time for the tour for the rest of us. I advise Head Office not to do this again. A warning to the guests to be prepared for the climb up the castle would be a good idea: avoid flimsy sandals. Mathius Grunewald's masterpiece, the Isemheim Alter Piece, is in Colmar. As it is one of the art world's most renowned piece, I suggest getting to the Musee Unterlinden to allow those who want to go in to see it. Otherwise, v pretty villages and countryside, as expected.

Well-paced trip through D-Day essentials

We had an overall good experience with the trip to all essential locations of the D-Day operation; it would have been even greater if the tour guide had a better English level, as sometimes we struggled to follow what they were saying.

It was so complete. Interesting stories, detailed historical events. Ample time to look around each area we visited. Pascal was an excellent guide. He had many anecdotal stories as well as an enormous amount of accurate information. He really made the tour come to life I would very much like to take more tours of the area and would would hope to get Pascal

Superb experience!!!

Excellent experience yesterday! Our guide was a sommelier earlier in his career, and shared a lot of insights about the wines of Alsace, the history and people with us. We visited two wineries, one established hundreds of years ago, the other 12 years ago. They each served multiple samples of their products along with answering our questions. A tour of the cellar was also included. In addition, we also stopped at a lookout point for an appreciation of the Alsace region. A brief stop at the memorial to the WWII battle of Colmar provided a different historical context. Highly recommend!

Our guide was prompt, friendly and a very careful driver. We had entertaining and informative discussions en route to the Medoc. The winery tours were very interesting and the tastings superb. Even the lunch spot our guide (Stanislaus) picked was exceptional. In all a most rewarding tour that I would highly recommend.

Not enough time in St Emilion. Too much time spent pre (limited) tour of vineyard with the attempted sale of wine to the guests on the tour.

We went to Cassis for a day with our guide Julien. First off- it was amazing because we ended up being the only people so it was like a private tour 🙌 Secondly, Julien was a truly fantastic guide. He’s knowledgable - being from the area, and genuinely passionate about it. Not only that- but he’s a really interesting person to chat to, whilst giving us plenty of space to explore etc The tour itself was incredibly well planned and timed. The boat was beautiful to see the Calanques (even for someone who normally gets seasick- I loved it and it was very calm). There was also a great range of restaurants which Julien helpfully advised us on. After time to see the town (which is beautiful). Then we went to the vineyard for a wonderful wine tasting and a viewing spot. Julien was as good as a sommelier! We loved the whole thing and huge thanks to Julien for a great day!
