Excellent tour and tour guide

Rodolphe at Ophorus is without question one of the best wine tour guides I have ever met. He was incredibly knowledgeable when it came to wine, wine making, and every little historical detail about the many chateaux and historical spots we visited. He is also an incredibly gifted people person. By the end of the tour, the nine of us - despite being strangers at 9:30 a.m. - felt like old friends. He is funny, kind, outgoing, but not intrusive. I couldn’t ask for more in a tour guide and I, along with everybody else in our group, had a wonderful time.

Best Day in Bordeaux

If you are a wine lover, this tour is for you! Ugo (our guide) made the experience feel like a fun day exploring Chateau’s with your closest friends. We really enjoyed the depth of information shared and the pacing of visiting each winery. The variety and history of each winery was wonderful. Highly recommend this tour- it’s been our favorite of all the tours during our 10 day stay in France.

Wonderful Tour

Wonderful tour. Our tour guide Matt knew the locations and all the history. He was very passionate about the exact details and offered much more than the average guide. We went out, onto the beach at Omaha Beach, which was special. We saw a lot in half a day.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Personally, I would have preferred to leave Mont Saint Michel as soon as our tour was over and have lunch at some town on the way home.

Great small tour

We had Alan as a tour guy, who is very knowledgeable, intelectual person who wanted us to love this region. Escorted us through towns, so we didn't waste time wondering around.

Great way to see Cassis and the Calanques. Wine tasting was fun.

Loved the boat ride to the Calanques. We had lots of free time to explore Cassis. Wine tasting was fun. Enjoyed going to the top of the cliff for incredible views.

Touring the medieval villages was well worth the time.

Our guide was Jerome and he was awesome. Throughout the tour he explained what each stop was and how long it would take to get there in case any of us needed to take a pit stop before the upcoming drive. Jerome was knowledgeable about each destination and answered all of our questions. He has a sommelier background so he was familiar with the Alsace wine industry, the area wine makers, and the technical aspects of growing grapes in the region. He even made an unscheduled stop along the Vine Route so we could get an up close look at grape vines. Jerome explained the pruning strategies used to maximize the grape flavors. I had little knowledge of Strasbourg prior to my visit, other than the German influence due to the proximity to the border. I was pleasantly surprised about all pretty villages and castles in the area. As well as getting some dining tips while in Strasbourg.

We had an incredible time! Miriam our guide was super friendly and informative, and was happy to answer all our questions. We visited three winemakers and tasted multiple varieties at each, and got to experience all the grapes the region has to offer. Would highly recommend, we loved this experience!

The itinerary is well planned and the trip is fruitful, originally I thought it will be very packed for visiting so many places in just 9 hours, yet it wasn’t, those interesting and beautiful small towns are worth visiting, each place got almost 1-1.5 hrs for touring and explore which I think it’s reasonable timing. Carlo is very informative and nice. Overall the experience of this trip is a good one

We enjoyed seeing both Castles. The tour guide gave good explanations of what we were seeing. The castles are so large that the narration could have gone on for hours- we left wanting more. We did not like the van. We were sitting in the back and could not hear any of her talks. It was so frustrating. I don’t know why she didn’t have a little microphone system set up. For the cost of the tour, we felt cheated. Not at all worth what we paid.
