By far hands down best tour I’ve ever been on. I was on the fence about taking a tour or going off on my own and without a doubt I am so glad I chose My XO Adventure. A 10/10 experience, it literally made my whole trip to SD! Daniel was my guide and is the most wonderful and kind human to spend the day with. He makes you feel so comfortable and is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and thoughtful. He has a passion for what he does and his excitement is contagious! He goes out of his way to make sure your bucket list items are checked off. The sites and wildlife are incredible on their own, but having someone like Daniel to take you to spots you wouldn’t know about and make sure you have the best lighting or views, not to mention providing all the history and details just elevate the experience and take it to a whole new level. Communication with both Amiee and Daniel around the whole process from booking to drop off was exceptional. I would ABSOLUTELY do another tour with them!!

I’ve traveled the world and taken various awesome tours. However Daniel has surpassed all other tours. He was the perfect fit for my 9-year old son and myself. He contacted me a day earlier with alternate plans and ideas which we were open to. I can not say enough about how accommodating he was. Not only did he offer us his deep knowledge of the area he became our personal photographer. Daniel made innumerable stops and turn arounds to ensure us the best views and photographs. We had a fantastic day touring the Badlands with Daniel from XO Adventures. He paid close attention to what we were interested in, shared a wealth of fascinating local knowledge, and delivered an outstanding experience from start to finish. Spotting bison was our top priority, and he absolutely made it happen. We visited in late November, so the delicious homemade soup for lunch was the perfect warm-up. Communication beforehand was prompt, clear, and helpful.

ATTENTION, PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE THING!! Let me start off by saying this was one of the most amazing trips my significant other and I have ever been on! We were traveling to South Dakota for a wedding and wanted to make the most of our time there. From the moment we booked to the moment we got back home, the communication was absolutely impeccable. We only had one full day to explore, so we booked the stargazing tour with Daniel a couple weeks in advance. We booked it around 6 pm, and by 8 pm he had already called us, confirming everything, walking us through the weather, and giving us more info about the tour. In the two weeks leading up to the trip, he stayed in touch, going back and forth with us on weather changes and backup plans. Along with information about permits needed for our drone. That level of care alone was impressive. The day of our tour, Daniel called and asked if we’d be open to starting earlier so we could get the most out of the experience, and thank goodness we did. What was supposed to be a six-hour tour ended with us staying out until 2 AM just so we could see the aurora lights. A literal bucket-list moment checked off, and something we never would’ve experienced without him. Throughout the tour, we saw so many breathtaking places: the magic of the Black Hills, the sunsets and wildlife in the Badlands, and even the Hallmark movie beauty of Spearfish canyon in the snow. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about the area, Native American culture, and has an eye for spotting wildlife, but he’s also genuinely personable, kind, and accommodating. Daniel was precise and intentional about everywhere he took us, he knew exactly where to go so we could experience the best of South Dakota, including spots we never would’ve found on our own. He also took photos of everything so we could just be present and soak it all in. And let me tell you, he is beyond prepared. Extra layers in case we were cold, up to the minute knowledge of closed or unsafe roads, and the ability to handle the crazy weather we had (it was snowing pretty hard). We knew we were in good hands the entire time. BUT what we didn’t expect was the experience with Daniel that you truly can’t get anywhere else. Yes, he knows his stuff, foliage, rocks, the history of the area, but he also brings this joy and excitement that you feel. You can literally see how much he loves what he does, and it makes the whole experience 10x more magical. That kind of contagious passion is rare. In today’s world, we’re all particular about where we spend our money, but trust me, spending it with them feels good. Not only is it worth every penny, but you feel great supporting a family and employee run business. I could honestly go on and on. And if you get the chance to read Daniel’s story, please do. Best Tours in South Dakota!

I can’t say enough about Daniel and our tours! We did a three day tour so we could see all the sites. Daniel was the perfect guide! He is so knowledgeable about everything! He has the best info and stories and really knows his stuff. We had so much fun with him and Amiee (Daniels mom and office mgr) and was sad to see our 3 days finished. I could go on about all of the sites but I will talk about the Badlands tour! It was absolutely amazing! Daniel brought us in a different way and we had so much fun seeing all of the animals and the beauty. We had a sunset picnic out on the rocks and then laid back in zero gravity chairs with blankets (Daniel has everything you need) and watched the beautiful night sky. I have never seen such beauty! We saw the constellation s, Milky way and at least a dozen shooting stars. It was the perfect night. Daniel goes out of his way to make everything perfect! I can’t finish this review without talking about Amiee. When I called to book she was a wealth of information about where to stay, eat, ect. Daniel and Aimee were so awesome I feel like we’re leaving having made friends we will never forget. They made us feel so comfortable. These tours are a must when visiting South Dakota because Daniel does all the work for you and you leave knowing more about the areas than you could imagine.

We booked the 3 day tour with Daniel and Amiee and it was the highlight of our trip. Daniel is extremely knowledgeable about every facet of the area. These are two of THE most amazing people you will ever meet. They let you go at your own pace and are extremely accommodating. The Badlands tour was my favorite of all the tours I've taken over the years. I have a very stressful job and I felt like I just had to get away. There's something magical about the Badlands. I felt like my soul was literally soaking up the tranquility of the place. Daniel goes out of his way to make sure each tour is exceptional. We saw plenty of wildlife, sunsets, and all around beauty. If you go to South Dakota, don't try to see everything yourself. XO Adventures will exceed your expectations. It's a MUST to give Daniel a call... you won't regret it!!

From the first time I called My XO adventures and Amiee answered the phone I knew this was the tour company for us! Amiee was so sweet and full of information. She answered all of the questions I had and gave great advice on where to stay, etc. We booked the 3 day tour! We have done many tours all over the country and this was by far the best! Daniel was so knowledgeable about everything! He knew all the back roads and special places that a visitor wouldn’t know about or get to see! Our first day we went on the monuments and Black Hills tour. We saw so much and Daniel gave us tons of information and stories. He is awesome! On our second day we visited the Badlands. This was the most amazing and beautiful tour! The way Daniel brought us there was not the touristy way. We saw all kinds of animals. Daniel takes pics for you and we had binoculars provided and anything else we could of needed. We had a sunset picnic and then we had the most amazing experience seeing the constellations, milky way and shooting stars. It was absolutely beautiful! Our third day we visited Devils Tower and walked around it. It was a great tour and once again Daniel knows so much about it and the area. Daniel and Amiee were so accommodating, we truly feel like we have made friends we will never forget! Just book, you won’t regret it!

What a magical experience. Daniel was our tour guide and we were to have an evening tour of the Badlands. We were very nervous because a really bad storm was blowing in, but he handled it like a master. He knew when to park, he knew when to drive, once the storm blew over our head and the sun came out the views were incredible. The night was too cold for us to lay outside the car on our backs to gaze at the stars, but the pictures that Daniel took and sent to us after were amazing. We did pop out every now and again to look with our eyes, and there were stars from horizon to horizon. I haven’t seen anything like it in decades. We will remember this experience for the rest of our lives. Thank you, Daniel for taking such good care of us.

Hands down, the tour with Daniel made our vacation to So Dak better than it every could have. I was originally researching tours to get ideas for an itinerary I could create on my own. However, after falling into Daniel's (My XO Adventures), everything was upended. I realized, I didn't want to be the planner or the tour guide, I wanted to be a participant like everyone else I was traveling with. Long story short - we were able to book with My XO and I wouldn't have it any other way. Customer service, phone calls, emails - all were superb and from just that, we knew we had something good. But we didn't know how good. There were six of us, ages 12-41, and everyone appreciated Daniel's vibe, knowledge, and the way he conducted the tour. And to be honest, even when it wasn't on the agenda, he was able to squeeze in a Badlands tour for us and it was, without a doubt, the best part of the tour. If you're thinking of booking anything, book the Badlands Tour with Daniel! It was majestic. Daniel gave us an experience that you just can't do on your own, to include driving into the Badlands on roads most tourists don't even know are there! Daniel has such a heart for travel and the world and it's so great he's willing to share it with others in this way. If you do anything in South Dakota, book a tour with Daniel!

Choosing XO Adventures for our three day private tours was the best choice! Daniel, Dan, and Logan so easily tell the rich history of the area and eagerly point out; plants, trees, birds, animals, rock formations, waterfalls, National Monuments, and Parks to not only see but take that beautiful photograph! They timed our site views perfectly to avoid morning fogs and capture beautiful sunsets. We loved the tours they arranged for us and would highly recommend this group.

My sister and I used XO Adventures for our recent trip to Rapid City South Dakota. What a wonderful experience. We did the three day tour and was lucky to have Daniel, Dan and Logan take us around on different days. Their knowledge of the area made it one of our best vacations. We had no idea there was so much to see and do and had we not used OX we would have missed so much. I have traveled the world and been on many tours but OX Adventures has spoiled me now. We did a stargazing tour, and this was definitely one of the highlights of our family trip to South Dakota. Everyone on the team at this locally run outfit is super friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide, Logan, was top-notch; it was amazing to be in the Badlands with a wildlife biologist, and I'm certain we would not have seen so much amazing wildlife without his trained eye. (burrowing owls! two coyotes at dusk! bison posing majestically atop a mound with the sunset behind him!) He picked us up on time, shared fascinating tidbits about local history, and knew just the spot to watch the sunset from that would have a good view but not be too crowded. We lucked out and had perfect weather for stargazing, in comfy zero gravity chairs and with a blanket for when you got chilly. He even took photos with his long-range camera and sent us all the photos so we could just enjoy the view and not even worry about taking pictures! It was worth the cost for such a high-quality, intimate excursion and a pleasure to support a local business.

Logan gave us an amazing experience in the Badlands/Scenic and rock hounding just outside of the Badlands! His wildlife background and knowledge of the area was superb. Even though it was our second trip back to the Badlands, he managed to show us all the things we had missed before without even knowing they were there! He also gave us 2 hrs to rockhound (as we had requested a focus on this) and we came home with wonderful specimens of Jasper, crystal and rose quartz, and Prairie Agates as well as Lacy and Bubblegum agates for our collection. I cannot give Logan and XO Adventures anything but our highest praise. They gave us one of our best excursions while in South Dakota and one we will always remember!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The MOUNT RUSHMORE ILLUMINATION TOUR with **Dan was over the top excellent! THIS IS A MUST DO if you’re planning a visit to South Dakota. Dan knows the area, gives great recommendations and is so friendly. He’s a guy that you meet once and want to invite to Thanksgiving dinner. He brought towels because the outdoor seating was wet, he had an umbrella for any potential rain, and made the trip incredibly comfortable with all the things that you didn’t remember or didn’t know you needed to have. He told us how to make the most of our time so we could hike around the sculpture for photos and still see the museum and the historical movie about Mount Rushmore. He took photos of us (he is an accomplished photographer), gave us a ton of history and even texted me some information about other things we had on our itinerary so we could make the most of our trip. The ILLUMINATION of Mount Rushmore is an incredible experience. There is nothing like seeing the sculpture BUT seeing it at night is a whole different experience. It has a patriotic feel (service members are recognized) and it makes you so proud of what our country has achieved. When in Rapid City, I highly recommend booking a my XO Adventures Tour with DAN…get ready to be amazed and appreciative of what this tour offers. ❤️

We had a sunset picnic dinner in a special spot and ended the evening with his secret star gazing spot!! I love a private tour because you get to know the guide and why he does this. This is a not miss experience !
