This was our first trip to Durango and we booked several tours through Mild to Wild after reading reviews of the company and packages online. We arrived in Durango and our first tour was the Durango Train and Silverton Jeep Tour. The company provided straight forward directions so check-in was a breeze. Our tour guide, Cat, provided a warm atmosphere so our family bonded easily with the other family in our tour group. Cat provided everything and more that you could want from a guide - historic information about the area, games on the drive up, and a personalized jeep tour based on our interests (we opted for waterfalls, alpine lakes, old mines). She was also kind enough to take photos of our whole family. I loved learning about her and appreciated the personal touch she added to our trip. She dropped us off in Silverton with the best recommendations for lunch which we took advantage of. We booked prime seats on the Silverton train based on the company’s recommendations. We spent the last three hours of the day relaxing in the open car train with to die for views before returning to Durango. I highly recommend booking this tour (ask for Cat!), we were able to maximize our vacation time and minimize our stress and really just enjoy our family.

great time on the river with wolf as our tour guide! it’s definitely more of a cruising on the river with small rapids in between but really enjoyed all the fun knowledge about the surroundings and the great views! we got to swim in the water which i highly recommend doing! thanks wolf!

We had a great adventure on Clear Creek. It was just right for grandma and grandpa 10 year-old grandson 12-year-old granddaughter. Everyone loved it. Mika was a great guide!!

Our trip with Will as our guide was the highlight of our Durango vacation! He really knows how to make sure everyone is involved and has a good time. I was initially nervous about my first whitewater trip, but had such a good time, I would love to go again.

We had a very nice trip. Our guide Myles was very friendly and social. We did the half day trip but at the end wish we would have selected the full day. Would be nice to have an option to upgrade to the full day and stay with the full day group instead of departing with the half day crew. Next time would definitely do the full day trip. The kids loved getting in the water and going down the rapids. Thanks for a fun morning! Highly recommend booking an excursion with these guys.

We took the all day trip on the San Miguel. Even with low water levels, Noah made it a fun day. The whole team was knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Myles was great!! Very knowledgeable about the area, landmarks, plants/flowers and wildlife. He offered and took multiple pictures for my and my family. He even took great care of me when I felt motion sick in the back of the jeep. He was very caring and attentive. Overall a great experience and would book again! Thank you Myles!

I went on a full day rafting trip and Taz was our guide. She was awesome! Her knowledge of the area, the geological formations, the local wildlife, and her ability to command the raft were very impressive. I would definitely recommend Mild to Wild to anyone looking to have a great experience on the river.

My wife and I went White Water Rafting for her 60th birthday. We had never been rafting before and signed up for the Upper Animas trip which has the class 4 and 5 rapids. (We went in July so the water level was not as high as it is in June.). We were a little nervous about the trip but our concerns were quickly dispelled. They gave us an orientation which taught us how to paddle and maneuver around in the boat to prepare us for possible mishaps. They also had us actually swim through some rapids for more practice. They took the orientation seriously and prepared us well. The actual trip went off without a single issue. The train took us through the breathtaking San Juan National forest and dropped us off at Needleton. We pulled the gear off the train and set float on the Animas. It was spectacular. Kip and Trey were the guides in the two boats. We were with Trey. Both boats in our party made it approximately 10 miles down the Animas without a single incident. Both guides handled the rafts with expert precision. We stopped on the journey and had a nice lunch and break where the Animas merges with Cascade creek. It was a beautiful setting. We finished up and caught the train back to Rockwood where our adventure began. We could not have been happier with our decision to spend our vacation with Mild to Wild.

All of the instructors and staff were very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and great at interacting with us and keeping us safe while helping us have a wonderful time rafting! I highly recommend!
