Our guide, Julian LaPlante, was knowledgeable and friendly. We had a terrific time on our ride down the San Miguel and Julian clearly knew his stuff. We also had some great conversations along the way with a very special young man. We were his only clients and I was a little nervous at first knowing my wife and I were the only crew. Julian taught us well and we had fun!

We had an AMAZING time rafting down lower Animes with Nathaniel!! He was awesome, knowledgeable, and funny. We had a blast and laughed the entire time. Would absolutely go again. All the other tour guides were young, fun and energetic as well. Water levels were lower than normal, but we didn't even notice. Went with a group of 8. 2 adults, kids ages 6-17. Perfect for everyone!

I’m a recent local and got to know where I live from a whole new perspective. Super cool to go down the river. Micah was a great leader- fun, sarcastic, and kept us safe. Some other companies on this river clearly don’t care about safety as much as Mild to wild does. Definitely going again when the river is at its highest.

Family and Friends had a BLAST!

We went down the lower Animas with Nathaniel as our guide. He absolutely rocked! My husband and I loved him and our kids and their friends did too (ages 6-17). The water level was lower than normal, but we didn't notice. We laughed the whole time. Nathaniel was funny, knowledgeable and professional. All the other tour guides were young, fun and energetic. Will absolutely do it again if we return to Durango.

Great tour with Jay

To begin with let me say that Jay was amazing guide and a real gentleman. He has been doing this stuff for 13 years and it shows. He knows every turn and bump (many) in the road. Beautiful wild flowers and incredible scenery. Highly recommend it.

Ryan was the best! Super sweet kid! Personal, informative, but also really good guide on the water. We are young kids, but they understood how to navigate thanks to him. Fun summer activity! Thanks Ryan!

4 day 3 nights Gates of Ladore trip was awesome. Guide team of Jackson, Evan, Brandon and Jordan were great to spend 4 days with. Lots of fun. Lots of good conversation.

Very fun for our first rafting trip! Rapids were pretty mild but the scenery was amazing! Our guide Dillon was very experienced and knowledgeable!

Mild to wild intermediate rafting tour in mid July 2025

I had a fun and awesome time! Although we had to maneuver through and around a bike marathon, it didn’t stop the experience. Our staff member/raft leader Johnathan has over a decade of experience. He was very knowledgeable of rafting and of the area too. He gave us the safety instructions and techniques we would have to do during our rafting ride. They were easy to follow and remember. I honestly didn’t think I would get to hold and use a paddle, but I really enjoyed that we actually got to be involved in that part of the experience. It made my experience more enjoyable. Honest review is 10/10 I would come back again. There was plenty of parking, easy to find, they take our safety seriously, and an all around fun experience.

We had an amazing rafting trip with our family of five, and it couldn’t have been better! The rapids were just the right mix of thrilling and fun — enough excitement to keep us laughing (and holding on tight!) but still perfect for the whole crew. Huge shoutout to our guide Ryan, who absolutely crushed it. His navigation skills were top-notch, keeping us safe and smiling the whole way down. He knew the river like the back of his hand and made the experience unforgettable. The banter between the boats added so much fun to the ride — it felt like a floating party with just the right amount of mischief. 😄 Next time, we’re definitely bringing water guns… no more getting caught off guard! 💦🚣‍♀️ Already looking forward to round two!

Hunter was a beast on the raft! I'm convinced he's secretly training for the Whitewater Olympics. My wife and I were just there for moral support (and to watch him make us look like amateurs). Seriously fun though, we'd go again in a heartbeat!
