If it hadn't been for the low water levels and area wild fires this year, we would have taken another rafting tour over Father's Day weekend. The Jeep tour, however, turned out to be a fabulous alternative and we are so glad we had the chance to experience it. There are so many old mining areas tucked around the mountains, and each Jeep tour takes its own path. The experience revolves around your individual guide's knowledge and enthusiasm. We adored Jared, who talked fluidly about the flora and fauna of the region, the geology, mining processes, and the history of the companies in the region -- how they lured workers to cross the country (and in some cases the world) to join the mining effort, as well as some of the famous strikes and famous disasters. Over the course of the trip, he picked wild flowers, identifying each one and arranging a bouquet for us to take back to the hotel. I loved that we could get out and walk around the ruins -- nothing was fenced or roped off, so you could stand right on the foundations, say, of an old the miners' boarding house. What a tremendous walk through history. As we got higher up, the scenery became spectacular. My daughter "borrowed" my camera and never gave it back! It was a wonderful day.

Dillon was a super guide. Thought I would be afraid but not at all because he was so good and instilled confidence in him. Best trip ever. Cool water and view were wonderful. Make sure you get in water.

A great company willing to work with you and meet your personal needs. Rafting the Yampa River through Dinosaur National Park turned out to be far more than expected because of the two great river guides we had. We got the history, the geology, the botanicals, good home cooked food including desserts cooked over coals, and some fine thrilling rapids navigated with expertise! All were dedicated to giving us a wonderful memorable time and so it was. Thank you Mild to Wild and especially to Shawna and Scotty--you are fabulous!!!!

What to do with three teenagers on Spring Break? No screens, no phones, and the incredible scenery seems like a recipe for disaster until you see your twin 14yos giggling and burying each other in mud and sand for two hours while waiting for a delicious dinner. AdventureBound's Shana and M2W's Trey were our guides on our five-day rafting trip through Cataract Canyon. These amazing people were fun-loving and funny while remaining disciplined, knowledgeable, and breath-takingly skillful. If they aren’t the two best guides on the Colorado River, I would be thoroughly shocked. I initially attempted to book Salt River, but the flow was too low. The M2W office called me directly (I was booking everything online) and suggested Cataract Canyon as a great alternative. I am terribly pleased they did. I can’t imagine a better experience. It was true deep-wilderness camping but all logistics and meals already planned and arranged. We brought our own tents and sleeping bags, but these can be rented if you don’t have your own. Shana and Trey somehow whipped up things like breakfast fajitas, pasta alfredo, steak, eggs, pork loin, and many other hot delicious foods (to say nothing of the desserts) from the magic bottomless coolers on the rafts. Shana knew every inch of the canyons and, even as familiar with them as she is, she was as entranced by them as we were. Her enthusiasm was contagious and even my 16yo was fascinated by the shifting geology and the remnants of Ancient Puebloan culture. The hikes we took were fun, exciting, and rarely arduous. And the river….what a rare and magical ribbon of adventure in our country. A few days of smooth rafting and establishing routines set us up for the wild rides down the rapids. Many other reviews address the exciting whitewater so I will stick to our personal experiences. M2W treated us like individuals and like family. Service was perfect. At the Meetup in Moab, we were welcomed warmly and the staff helped us pack our dry bags appropriately. At the takeout point in Lake Powell, we were met and safely delivered back to Moab in a timely fashion. If I do another rafting trip, I will absolutely trust them to deliver exactly what I want."

I recently went on a group trip through Canyon lands, Moab (also known as the Cataract river trip) and it was such a fun experience! The guides were so cool, the food was always well prepared, and the rafting was awesome! Moab is such a beautiful place to go camping and experience nature, especially with Mild to Wild.

Loved the Mild to Wild experience. Very different from some of my experiences with other rafting outfitters in respect to Mild to Wilds safety oriented thinking. Will be back for more awesome adventures with Mild to Wild!

Did an overnight rafting trip with my husband and six year old in the Moab section of the Colorado river. What an amazing family experience, perfect for all ages! So glad I had the opportunity to experience this dramatic scenery of the west along with some mild whitewater. Shoutout to our guide Trey’s outstanding service - nothing short of hand and foot!
