Darren gave us a very thorough and informative guided tour of Arches National Park our first morning. He has a very pleasant demeanor and is responsive to what our group of 6 wanted to see and learn about. We highly recommend him.

I apologize because I don’t exactly remember our driver’s name for the 4 hour Jeep tour. I think it was Tesso and he was AMAZING !! He was very accommodating because we wanted to stop and take so many pictures. This was the highlight of my trip to Moab!!!

The river was really low...

The river was really low at this time of the year, so it was more of a scenic tour. But the people in our amazing guide Luis made it all worthwhile! But the duckies looked really fun and I wish I would’ve done those instead :)

A must see among national parks in the Rocky Mountains region as its man made unlike the other parks which are designated as a result of natural formats. Our Wild & Mild guide Cat made the trip more pleasant by being very informative and engaging. Comfortable vehicle and a relaxed schedule.

Mild to Wild Rafting in Castle Valley: The Chillest Dadventure Chapter Yet When your "Dadventure" schedule already includes death-defying swings and sunrise balloon flights, you figure it’s time to slow things down with a gentle float down the Colorado River. Smart move. Mild to Wild nailed it. We drifted through Castle Valley like we were in a nature documentary, except with better snacks and zero risk of getting eaten by wildlife. The red rock towers looming over us were absolutely ridiculous — like someone gave Mother Nature a box of Legos and told her to go big. Every bend in the river brought another “whoa” moment. Our guide, Tom, was the MVP of the day. The man knows his stuff. He kept us laughing while dropping nonstop facts about Moab’s geology, the river’s history, and why those giant rock formations look like they were designed by a very ambitious alien. Zero boring lecture vibes — just perfect mix of funny stories and cool info that actually stuck. It was the ideal Dadventure breather: peaceful, scenic, and just floaty enough to make us feel like we earned a nap. No screaming, no white knuckles, just good conversation, epic views, and quality father-daughter time on the water. If you’re in Moab and need a break from the adrenaline stuff, book this trip. Mild to Wild and Tom made it effortless and memorable. 10/10. Would drift again (probably right after the next Moab swing… once my heart rate recovers). 🛶🏞️😂

We are truly grateful for the exceptional service provided by our tour guide, Jaybird. Despite the challenging weather conditions that prevented us from completing the jeeping portion of our excursion, Jay went above and beyond to ensure our experience remained remarkable. He skillfully arranged for us to visit Silverton, allowing us to enjoy the final leg of our adventure. Thank you, Jaybird, for your dedication and for making our trip so wonderful! And thank you to Mild 2 Wild for providing alternative transportation to Silverton.

Seth and Gavin were fantastic guides on our 1–2 water rafting trip down the Colorado River! They made the entire experience fun, entertaining, and most importantly, safe from start to finish. This was the perfect mix of excitement and relaxation, and we would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone looking for a memorable day on the Colorado River.

May 2026 - The Lower Animas River Kayaking Trip (3/4 day) was fantastic! This was our second trip with Mild to Wild - we had previously enjoyed a rafting/kayaking trip on the Colorado River in Moab, Utah with them, and had kept an eye on their (very well-designed) website as we traveled to other areas in the U.S. Upon reserving this trip, preparing for it was made easy by effective communications and entertaining online informational videos. On the day of the trip, all the Mild to Wild staff were helpful and friendly, first getting us checked in and then outfitted in rented wetsuits and booties (45-50 degree F water!) as well as trip-included splash jackets, lifejackets, and helmets. Our river guide, Justin Meek, was just an amazingly great trip leader. We two 60-something retirees were the only participants on this particular trip (on a weekday before Memorial Day), but I have no doubts that a larger group of kayakers and/or rafters would have received just as good care from Justin. He was engaging and personable, even during the required safety briefing, and was full of interesting historical and nature facts, funny stories (including one real groaner of a pun!), and recommendations for things to do and local restaurants in the Durango region. While my husband enjoyably kayaked the entire 8 miles (including one Class III rapids!), I found the first two sets of Class II rapids to be all I could handle. (Now I really have an incentive to hit the gym weights!) Justin helped me recover from where I had drifted up against a log and tipped out, and loaded my inflatable kayak and me into his inflatable guide boat so that I could enjoyably raft down the remaining 2/3 of the trip. From the very beginning of the trip, Justin was encouraging and perceptive, checking in to see that we were doing well throughout, and making it easy for me to admit that I just wasn't up to more kayaking. Justin also managed the one small portage and the lunch setup, adding to our wonderful day. We also were impressed with the quality of the equipment, the length of training that Mild to Wild provides to its prospective river guides, and the expertise level of our river guide, Justin, who is certified in whitewater safety and rescue. I very enthusiastically recommend Mild to Wild, the Lower Animas River trip, and river guide Justin Meek!

We’re locals, so we’ve done our fair share of rafting tours around here… and this was hands down the BEST experience we’ve ever had. Huge shoutout to our guide, Payton, and the training raft guide—both of them were absolutely incredible. Payton made the entire trip feel exciting, safe, and genuinely unforgettable. You could tell right away how experienced and passionate they are. The energy on the raft was nonstop fun from start to finish, and they kept everyone laughing while still making us feel completely confident on the river. The training guide was also amazing and fit right in with the team. Super personable, professional, and clearly learning from the best. Together, they made the whole experience feel less like a tour and more like an adventure with friends. As locals, we’re usually hard to impress because we know the area so well—but Mild to Wild absolutely exceeded every expectation. If you’re thinking about booking, do it. We’ll definitely be back and will be requesting Payton again!

Our driver and educator was Tosh. He did a fabulous job entertaining and taking care of 4 seniors. We had a wonderful experience bouncing our way to approximately 10K feet. Snow cover, beautiful water falls and crisp, clean air, and some unexpected wildlife made great memories. Thanks, Tosh.

Tosh was an amazing tour guide. So knowledgeable of the area, vegetation, animals and an absolutely incredible driver across that rocky terrain. He was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable in his care. We had a wonderful day with him.

Highly recommended. You get a lot more information just on the shuttle bus in than if you go to the site yourself for the ranger led tour. Our guide Cat was awesome and imparted lots of knowledge about Mesa Verde, the history, the inhabitants and the surrounding area between Durango and the site.
