I went on a half-day kayaking trip on the Lower Animas with Mild to Wild, and it was honestly one of the best parts of my whole trip! From the moment I showed up, everyone on the Mild to Wild team was super friendly, welcoming, and professional. My guide, Toby, was amazing—he was easygoing, fun, and made the entire experience feel like I was kayaking with a buddy. He helped me feel totally at ease on the water and kept the energy upbeat the entire time. It didn’t feel like a tour—it felt like an adventure with a friend who really knew his stuff. I had such a great time that I’m already thinking about coming back to try more of their trips. If you’re in Durango and want to do something fun and unforgettable, I can’t recommend Mild to Wild enough.

Yampa/Green River Multi-Day Whitewater Rafting

Mild to Wild 4 Day Yampa River: I have done many multi-day rafting trips and this was one of the best. The Yampa scenery through Dinosaur National Monument equalled Colorado River in Grand Canyon and was much more accessible and intimate. Trip Leader Jackson, beautiful guides Jordan and Payton, and swamper Brandon were all experienced, expert boatpersons, cooks, and camp comforters. EX: the use of inflatable kayaks on raft trips can be problematic for guides and these folks were extremely accomodating and gracious about their use. Safety, sanitation, food prep, side hikes, and LNT camping were all top notch. Logistics like bookings, motels, payments, and shuttles were fast, easy, and very reasonable. Overall a tremendous value with professional guide and a very nice group of guests in a sublime, pristine, remote canyon. Highly recommend for all adults and adventurous kids. PS: Disclosure: My crappy phone camera was not up for the scale, lighting, or majesty of the Yampa scenery and I do not share guest/guide pics, so no photos. Mild to Wild website or FB might have some.

Brilliant day and equally brilliant guide

This trip was great and made all the better by our guide Bella - so much energy and limitless knowledge! The trip up Mesa Verde was good either way plenty of stops to see the sights along the way, plenty of loo stops and the Cliff Palace was amazing! Don’t be put off by mention of ladders - they are totally manageable. If you’re in the area or planning a road trip this is definitely one to include and Mild to Wild make it all very easy :-)

Kayak Adventure

Beautiful and fun!

Wonderful tour and our guide Tom, was fantastic, saw bald eagles and learned a lot about Moab and the Colorado River. Swimming was cold but super fun. Would recommend to anyone!

We did the 1/2 day rafting tour with our awesome tour guide James. He was very knowledgeable about the beautiful landscape and landmarks. The rapids were fun but nothing too crazy which was perfect for our family of five who have never been white water rafting before. The experience was the perfect length of time on the raft and quite enjoyable. All of the staff working the tour were fun and friendly! Highly recommend!!!

Only leaving 2/5 stars because we didn’t actually go on a tour. The website and tour that I booked was completely deceiving. We were under the impression that we were doing an off roading jeep tour, as that is what it stated on “getyourguide.com”, and the site was one of the first to pop up when I searched “off roading jeep tours” in Google. Prior to the tour, I also signed a waiver that said “jeep waiver”. However, when we got there, we were loaded onto a shuttle van. On the website it says we may shuttle to the meeting spot, so I thought nothing of it until we pulled into Arches NP, still in a shuttle van. The guide was extremely nice and turned around and took us back to our car when asked because we had already driven the park the day prior & didn’t want to do it again. We signed up for a jeep tour, not a shuttle - and were under the impression that it was OFF ROADING because it listed all the places in the park it would take us to (places that you can only hike to, but they don’t have a permit to off road, the tour is blacktop only). All around, just a huge miscommunication & the website/name of the tour company is deceiving. I mean.. it’s called “mild to wild rafting & JEEP tours”, so how did we end up in a van? Still unsure. And to make matters worse, we weren’t able to get a refund. The people working were extremely kind, and it’s not their fault that the website is deceiving. We didn't get what we were expecting, or our money back - so I am disappointed and likely wouldn’t recommend to others

Mining history

Miles did a great job touring us through the old mining areas and providing history. Many great views and Miles was very accommodating when riders needed a break and when we wanted to stop for pictures or small hikes to check things out.
