Gaven was so awesome!! He’s so funny and is very knowledgeable about not only the geography but history of the area. His jokes were so good and he was very nice to chat with. This is definitely a good place to do water rafting!

We had a blast on (5 days) Desolation Canyon! Everything was well planned and executed. The food was well prepared, delicious and healthy. Great desserts too. Guides Evan, Wilson & Ziggy were helpful and even entertained the kids sometimes. They worked so hard every day. Definitely not an easy job. Rafting, camping and hiking- all great. Sometimes we had time to play games and relax as we coasted. Also fun. Just a perfect getaway! We went the end of May and the weather was very warm but we went in the water when we wanted. It was really refreshing!

We went on a rafting tour yesterday morning (5/29) and Jayden was our guide! We loved him, the kids loved him. He was very informative on all the areas we passed, he knows so much about the history of Durango. We kept us laughing while keeping us safe the whole time. 10/10 recommend this place and Jayden as your guide. I wish I could give him 10 stars! -The Martinez Family

Excellent tour and train ride. Our guide, Jared, did a fantastic job jeeping around the mountains and gave us some history of the Silverton area, mines, and landscape. The train ride back to Durango was simply amazing. Perfect weather and beautiful scenery. Highly recommended!

Mesa Verde National Park is so incredible. Learning the history and seeing how people lived thousands of years ago is amazing. Our tour guide Jay was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We had a great time.

We had an awesome time on the half day rafting trip in Moab. It was a perfect experience - some fun rapids but nothing too intense for our young kids. Shout out to our guide Tom who we enjoyed talking to. Definitely recommend!

Today my friend and I joined a family from Texas on a 3/4 day rafting trip down the Animas River in Durango. It was one of the best days I have had in a long time. Thank you to all the staff at Mild to Wild, especially Stephan, our rafting guide. The experience was a combination of exciting adventure, team rafting skills, beautiful scenery, unexpected wildlife observation, and fun, with a tasty lunch thrown in! Stephan had our safety has his number one concern and yet managed to taylor our adventure to a wonderful experience. I recommend this experience highly.

Went on the afternoon half day rafting trip. From the time we arrived to the time we left, everyone was friendly and welcoming and made everyone feel at home. Our guide was Tom, and he was awesome! This was our daughter’s first rafting adventure and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide and trip down the river for them. Go rafting with Tom at Mild to Wild!

Upper Animas - Needleton to Tacoma
This was my eighth time rafting the Upper Animas River. This was my first time going with Mild to Wild, but I did do a trip several years ago with them on the Piedra. Went late May, ideal water conditions, not too bony but not too high/fast. My guide was Kip Morgan. I have had well over 100 class 5 whitewater descents. Kip is a young guide - however he performed as a well-seasoned veteran. He ran very clean lines, his paddle commands were clear. He was very courteous to myself and the other two paddlers on the trip. Likewise for Trey, our safety kayaker, and Toby, who ran a boat for a training run. The Bureau of Land Management requires all who commercially raft on the Upper Animas to complete a swim test/assessment. This takes place at orientation the evening before the day-long trip. After signing forms, watching a short video and a brief talk from our guide, rafters are outfitted with gear and then we hit the town run of the river. Early on we take our swims and then our guide worked us pretty intensely to get us used to responding to commands and evaluate his paddlers. It was a somewhat intense workout but there is a lot of wisdom in it. The guide needs to know his paddlers can handle it. This is big whitewater on the Upper Animas. But most importantly, YOU as a paddler need to know that you can handle it. The trip is made more enjoyable with the augmentation of riding the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad from Rockwood to the put-in at Needleton. We then ride back from the takeout at Tacoma power plant back to Rockwood to load up in the van / bus and head back to Durango. Staff was thorough in asking about any dietary needs for the lunch served. I sensed a desire from staff/guides to give their guests a fun and safe experience.

We had such a good time. Stephen was an excellent guide. We lucked out and got a private tour (we're a Grandma & 2 10 year olds) so Stephen had to do the majority of rowing. I never felt anxious about the rapids or the kids and they had such a good time.

Took my family from Texas whitewater rafting with Mild to Wild and it was a great experience! From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well organized and professional. Seth was our guide and he made the experience better with his experience and knowledge of the river and area. Was also fun and friendly. He made sure everyone in our group felt safe and confident, regardless of their skill level. Our guide gave clear safety instructions before we got in the water and was excellent at navigating us through the rapids with both skill and humor. There are lots of options in Moab for these experiences but I would recommend using Mild to Wild
