During our visit to the memorial, I was deeply moved by the experience. Almir, our guide, was exceptional—warm, insightful, and incredibly knowledgeable. His passion for the subject was clear as he carefully walked us through the history, offering a poignant account of the tragic events that led to the genocide. He also highlighted the painful reality that, despite being aware of the atrocities, world powers failed to intervene and halt the violence. This was a sobering reminder of how the international community's inaction allowed such horrors to unfold. The graveyard itself was hauntingly serene, radiating a quiet calm while simultaneously carrying a heavy sense of trauma and deep sorrow. Each step through the grounds felt like a respectful pause in time, where the weight of history was felt in every corner. The space gave us the opportunity to reflect on the immense loss and the lasting impact of the tragedy. It was a profound experience, and Almir’s guidance gave deeper meaning to every moment we spent there. I’m also grateful to Almir for introducing me to Bosnian coffee—it’s a memory I’ll cherish for years to come.

An excellent tour
Anna was our guide for our 2 hour walking tour, and we can’t rate her highly enough. We were lucky as there was only the three of us and our guide for our tour so it felt like a personal trip. Anna was knowledgeable, friendly, honest and fun and we all learnt lots of information about Sarajevo, Bosnia and the former Yugoslavia. She introduced us to lots of local restaurants, cafes and shops that we subsequently sampled for our dinner and we weren’t disappointed. As we went on our tour we bumped in to previous tour group participants that recognised Anna and they and she greeted each other like old friends….which I think squeaks volumes about what a warm individual Anna is. I would highly recommend both Anna and this tour to help you get to know this new city.

È un tour soprattutto esplicativo, dove vengono raccontati dettagli e curiosità, poi per entrare nei siti occorre tornare in un secondo momento, e vengono consigliati anche posti dove mangiare e cose da assaggiare (qualche assaggino ci è anche stato dato in un paio di negozi), e lo consiglio quindi a inizio vacanza.

Our guide, Yasmin was the best! He showed us hidden gems on the road and he was a good driver also. it was like a day with a friend. Highly recommend, would do it again in summertime!

A MUST DO IN SARAJEVO!
We had an amazing walking tour in Sarajevo with our guide, Tarik. He provided so much information and took us to all the important spots and historic places, offering great insights into the city’s history and culture. We learned so much during the tour! It lasted more than two hours, and Tarik was incredibly friendly and engaging throughout. Although we felt bad we couldn’t give a bigger tip, the tour was truly excellent and exceeded all our expectations. Incredible Tour by Meet Bosnia!!
I booked the Sarajevo Siege Tour - Fall of Yugoslavia with Meet Bosnia Tour at the very last minute 🙏 texted them at 7 AM and got lucky they could fit me in for the 9 AM tour. Our guide, Arna, and driver, Faruk, were incredible. Arna shared personal stories from the war, giving us a real, emotional perspective on the hardships people faced. At one point, it got overwhelming, but I appreciated how deeply she connected us to Sarajevo’s history. One of the most mind-blowing parts of the tour was visiting the Tunnel of Hope. Seeing how it was built in what I consider a short period of time was incredible. When there’s a will to survive, there’s a way and this tunnel was proof of that resilience. The tour itself was amazing. We stopped at a beautiful sunset viewpoint overlooking the city and visited Trebević Mountain, where we saw the Olympic bobsleigh track. It was a shame we couldn’t walk on it since it was too slippery, but just being there was surreal. What made this experience even more special was the people. Arna invited us to meet her mother, who showed us real Bosnian hospitality, and Faruk invited our family to a private event at a mosque that his family was hosting. The kindness and warmth they shared were something I’ll never forget. Before this, I had the free walking tour with Meet Bosnia, and the experience was lovely. I was so impressed that I knew I wanted to book another tour with them to explore more of Sarajevo. If you’re visiting Sarajevo, I highly recommend Meet Bosnia Tour. The whole team, including Aisha and Hidaya at the office, was so welcoming. I feel incredibly lucky to have met them and experienced Sarajevo in such a meaningful way. If I visit again, I’d definitely book with Meet Bosnia Tour and do the tours I didn’t get to experience the first time.
