We enjoyed a wonderful morning touring up the Napoli coast. Friendly competant staff made us feel comfortable. We did see whales and dolphins, and got to swim and snorkel. A great day. The four of us would recommend Makana.

We had our family of 12 and we sprung for a private charter on the Seiko. It was hands down the best trip ever! Ree and Tony were our crew, and they were amazing. We had 3 generations and everyone… including the teenagers said it was the coolest thing we have ever done.

Unforgettable. Makana Charters was absolutely incredible. The only Native Hawaiian owned Nā Pali Coast boat tour, and you can truly feel the difference. Captain Mike and the crew didn’t just take us out on the water, they taught us the entire way. From the history of the coastline to the cultural significance of the valleys, marine life, and ancient Hawaiian traditions, every moment was filled with knowledge and respect for the land. It wasn’t just a tour, it was an education and an experience I’ll never forget. We also stopped to snorkel, saw dolphins, turtles, and whales. Lionel the crew member is incredible. He ensures an awesome experience. So grateful and highly recommend supporting them.

An AWESOME EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND!!! The tour guides were so much fun, but also kind and thoughtful throughout the ride ❤️. They checked on all the passengers, helped everyone find a good spot for pictures, lended a hand as people moved around the boat, and just had very nice smiles to accommodate everyone. They were VERY knowledgeable of the history and Hawaiian culture of the sites we passed along the Na Pali coast. They could name ridge lines, points, valleys, beaches, and give you the history and cultural significance of each as native Hawaiians. They were respectful to both the guests and the ocean we rode on, teaching the unspoken rules of the waters. It was truly a lovely time. These guys were top notch watermen as they navigated and kept the boat cruising. They were able to spot and take us to see all sorts of sea creatures. The boat ride itself was very smooth and enjoyable, not jerky and no one on board got sick. Lunch was served, drinks were available to stay hydrated. The bathrooms on board the boat were also nice and clean. The boat itself was pristine— very clean! I can’t express enough how wonderful these guys were!! And the tour itself was beautiful. Things you couldn’t see on land. The entire coastline was simply magical. Mahalo nui loa e Makana Charters!!!

Incredible staff, super knowledgable and helpful. The amount of stuff we did was exceptional: dolphins, whales, turtles, coastline, birds, hearing whale sounds on a microphone. Wow! The captain slowed when a whale or dolphin was spotted and powered over gently to get closer. We had so many opportunities for pictures. One boat crew gal took our pictures with the lovely Napali Coast as a backdrop. Truly a tremendous experience! Thank you!

We had an amazing experience with Makana Charters. Our first scheduled tour got canceled due to high surf. They promptly offered us a refund or the chance to reschedule. We moved to two days later. The boat was small enough to create a personal atmosphere but big enough to feel comfortable and safe. Our crew was so fun and knowledgeable, happy to answer any questions. Highly recommend this company for a charter.

We had the MOST incredible day on the water with Makana Charters yesterday. Thank you Captain Mike and Crew for the hospitality. The Canyon from the waters is a MUST on your Kauai vacation. We even got to see Humpback Whales as a bonus!!!

such a fabulous day! Our captain and first meet were incredibly generous, nice fun and showed us all of the Nepali Coast. The food was great, and even the playlist was amazing! Highly recommend! we saw many spinner, dolphins and whales with their tails and preaching and baby whales on top of mama whales, and even a heat trail. The caves were amazing and the history of the native Hawaiians living in the valleys of the Nepali Coast very informative.

We did the early tour, and were so glad we did. The weather was spectacular, the views of the Napali coast- sublime. The crew was fantastic, both in skills and in personality. They stopped for a snorkeling opportunity, and we ended up seeing both spinner dolphins and a few humpback whales during the outing. We had a great time and would do it again.

Today we went on Seiko with Captain A'a and Captain Tim with Makana Charters to see the Na Pali Coast of Kauai. It was fantastic! We learned a ton about the Na Pali area. Its history, people and culture. Obviously there is a ton more to learn but A'a gave us a good start. The Seiko was a great boat to see all the sights including dolphins, sea turtles, birds, fish and even a couple whales. We also enjoyed the snorkeling. We swam with the fishes and a couple of sea turtles. All in all it was a stupendous trip. Thank you Makana Chaters.
