Koalas and kangaroos

This is the highlight of my trip to Brisbane. We took a river cruise to the sanctuary. The boat ride was approximately one and a half hours. The sanctuary is interactive. Many options to see koalas, kangaroos, emus, wombats, wallaby, Tasmanian devils and many more. There is an option to feed the kangaroos. I absolutely recommend you do it.

Great experience. I didn't know the park was that big. Great shows, polite staff and beautiful animals. Also the services inside the park works great.

My girlfriend bought tickets for this whilst we were in Brisbane so I walked in with no expectations. I left feeling pretty disappointed by the experience. Whilst in Australia we visited the koala conservation reserve on Phillip island and wildlife wonders near Apollo bay on the great ocean road. Both of which were fantastic opportunities to see Australian wildlife in a more natural environment. The lone pine sanctuary feels more like a petting zoo with small enclosures. The koala enclosures are particularly depressing, feeling artificial and soul less, with a few pieces of wood holding up branches which the koalas sit on. It's frustrating because you will walk past patches of dense foliage, which would be perfect for crafting an enclosure, and they also have easily enough land to do so. I would recommend finding an alternative wildlife reserve or if you are visiting near Melbourne visiting the two places I mentioned above.

It was amazing. You get to touch koalas and all other types of animals at lone pine. Just book tickets online or in person for special events like animal feeding or encounters. Great staff, fun place. I would go back a million times if I could!!

such a phenomenal experience… you really get to have a moment with the koalas and kangaroos from more than behind a cage. you can touch them and feed them and it’s really great. they also have platypuses and monitors and wombats and guinea pigs haha. really great experience
