They sell the kangaroo food constantly and the kangaroo and wallaby are very full even it’s in the early morning but they’re just keep selling it. The staff will yell at you when you’re playing with the kangaroo. Doesn’t recommend.

Birds of prey and koalas are lovely but I didn’t pay to see sheep. Not one wombat, echidna or Tassie devil on show and found the sanctuary over priced for what is on offer. Many tourists complaining on our walk about this. Disappointing and waste of money.

A truly Magical Experience!
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The animals were delightful, the atmosphere was relaxed, and every staff member we met was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Seeing the koalas up close — and being able to gently touch and interact with the kangaroos — truly fulfilled a childhood dream. The sanctuary is beautifully maintained, easy to explore, and offers plenty of opportunities to learn about Australia’s wildlife in a meaningful way. It’s the perfect place for families, animal lovers, or anyone wanting an unforgettable Australian experience. I couldn’t recommend Lone Pine more highly — a genuine highlight of my trip.

(Translated by Google) I found the whole park simply awful. I was brought to tears several times when I saw the tiny cages the parrots were kept in, where they had absolutely no chance to fly. I saw koalas exhibiting abnormal behavior. And I'm not exaggerating when I say a platypus was constantly spinning in circles. Kangaroos were simply overfed. How disgusting can people be, treating animals like that? Never again.

Platinum Experience is SO worth it!
While in Brisbane, we had a choice of going to the Australian Zoo (started by Steve Irwin and his family that has animals from around the world in addition to an area dedicated to Australian animals) or the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (a smaller zoo that only has Australian animals). For us, a smaller more intimate experience is more us. And we didnt need to see animals for outside of Australia. So Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary it was. We did a Platinum Tour to get special access. Our visit was incredible. Our guide Ella was so spunky and knowledgeable. Spme people didnt show up for the tour and the other didnt do his reservation correctly so we ended up with a tour all with the guide to ourselves! We got to feed kangaroos, including an adult male, a female with a joey in her pouch, an 8 month old joey that was out of the pouch and both red and gray kangaroos. We got special time with dingos. The staff was shocked when the female dingo came right up to amazing, then rolled over for a belly rub. They said that she is shy and usually barely interacts with people. We got one on one time with koalas. We saw a shy platypus in his sleeping den. We helped with feeding a Tasmanian devil. We held an Australian white eagle and petted an Australian sheep dog. We also saw the prehistoric looking Cassowary, a bird with raptor type feet and beautiful blue head.

Best Koala experience for us in Australia.
We had a behind the scenes Platinum Tour with lunch at the Lone Pines Koala Sanctuary. This about 15 kms to the southwest of downtown Brisbane. Of the places we have been to in Australia, places around Sydney, Melbourne and Hamilton Island, to view Australian wildlife, this is by far the best we have seen. The Platinum pass allows you to get close and touch the various animals. All of the handlers care for and love the animals. Certainly the most koalas we have seen any where. They all seemed to be in good shape, healthy and well cared for. Were able to see a number of baby koalas. see photos. This is a large area with plenty to see. Would certainly allow 3 or 4 hours for a visit.
