First time that I go to a Lego discovery center. Even tho some may have the feeling that this is for kids. I loved it.

We came to visit for my son’s birthday. Overall, he enjoyed it. Slightly disappointed that the cafe had no actual food or drinks besides bags of chips and bottled Powerade. The playground was completely closed. And each section where the child is meant to build a car lacked the proper pieces to build a car. We did enjoy the Lego building session, the train and the Duplo area.

Great place to take your kids under 10 years old. 2 to 10 is the right age but I think teenagers or adults can enjoy it too. This place is for smaller kids in my opinion.

Finally an answer to the question of what would a theme park look like if the operators didn't care about the experience. The location is divided into five main parts: an interactive video at the beginning, a shoot the monsters carriage ride, a large lego city build with a couple interactive components, a play area, and a store. The first area wasn't staffed, so whatever sense of immersion was lost since you walk into the interactive video at whatever stage it happens to be at. Clearly it was *meant* to have somebody collect groups to go through it, but they don't care. My daughter's gun was either broken on the carriage ride or the trigger was too hard for her to pull (as a 7 year old). The ride itself was pretty mundane compared to a real theme park. The "mini land" city build was enjoyable, and we had fun making up stories about all the weird things going on. The play area was so intense that my wife had to leave. We tried building cars to race, but the pieces were mostly scattered so you couldn't build much. My daughter spent 5 seconds on the play structure before coming back because it was "too chaotic". And finally they have something like a Dumbo ride in there (maybe it's supposed to be Harry Potter themed?), but it broke down as we were standing in line. There is a quiet room in this part because they recognize that parents are going to be overwhelmed. If your child loves Legos, they might find things to enjoy, but overall it's a pretty lame experience overall. I'd save my money for something else.

For younger kids, it's more fun.

It has a lot of parking, it is in a mall, it has quick access, it is designed more for children under 10 years old, it is a little boring for the older ones. You can do a mission to go around the place and at the end get a pop badge.

This is only for the lego store. My wife and i couldn't go into the discovery center, didn't know you needed a kid 12 and under with you. LOL oh well they have adult nights, we will go then. But the lego store only had the little kid legos. Very few adult Legos Also the minifigure factory was out of order, the only reason we drove up to D.C.

its pretty dissapointing for the price. everything is pretty worn and old feeling while anything beyond the basic lego building area is an extra price some of the exhibits dont even work or light up properly there are spots for hand santitize4 all around, which is nice because a hundred kids have touched the lego before you, but none of them are filled

This was our first adventure to LEGOLAND discovery centre. Overall I was extremely disappointed in what it turned out to be. From how it is advertised I thought we would be entering a building that was full of millions of Lego that the kids can use to build creations themselves. What was available was not even a fraction of what I thought there would be. In addition, it was crowded and there was not enough adult seating. Nursing Mothers forced to nurse standing up, etc. From my observations a lot of adults that managed to get a seat tended to sit down and not get up again for a long time, glued to there devices...I am not sure how they felt comfortable to do this when anyone could take your child from the centre. Overall I would not recommend this experience unless it was heavily discounted. For what it is, it is not worth the price.
