We visited Galway for the first time and stumbled upon a “dark history” tour with Experience Galway. Our guide Conor was excellent. He was so knowledgeable and funny. It was about an hour and a half which is the perfect length. The 6:30 start time meant beautiful evening light around the historic city. It’s the perfect way to feel connected with a place even if you don’t have much time. And I just think the mysteries, lore and “true crime” vibes are so interesting compared to a standard historical day time tour. Highly recommend!

Great Tour!

We loved our experience with John B as our driver/guide! We stopped at several locations, including Cliffs of Moher, a cave, a cute local lunch spot in Doolin, and a couple other sightseeing locations. Our tour had a good amount of information and historical detail to provide us with the background on the locations we were going through. Would highly recommend.

Professional service and great tip.

The day was planned out great with ample opportunities for pit stops. Guide Shane was very knowledgeable snd helpful during the trip. He was very professional, gave great recommendations, and instructions. I throughly enjoyed the Kylemore Abbey/ gardens/gift shop/restaurant. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

Although the weather was not great, we had a fantastic tour with John B to the cliffs of Moher and the burren. John knows a lot about the area and stayed optimistic about the weather conditions 😊

Fantastisk ! Ville med glæde tage den samme tur i morgen. Vejret var meget Vest Irland: Regn og blæst. For mig, hvis modersmål ikke er engelsk, kan den irske accent være lidt svær at forstå. Phil var meget nem at forstå. Han er en blændende formidler og med god humor. Sarah fik os sikkert rundt på de små veje. Stor tak til dem begge.

John B was great but if...

John B was great but if you can avoid the big tour buses it’s worth it. With multiple stops it does start to feel like moving cattle. The sights were lovely and my daughter liked the cave. Lunch in a one option restaurant stop seemed forced.

Authentic and lovely daytrip from Galway

It was a really nice tour, with John B as our tourguide and driver. He told very interesting things about the surroundings we were passing and made sure everyone was comfortable. We were a bit unfortunate with the weather ( very foggy at the cliffs) but John stayed very optimistic and made sure we had a great day anyways! Can definitely recommend this tour.

We took a tour to Kylemore abbey. Great experience. Our driver was Shane who went above and beyond. We took a couple of stops in small towns. He was very knowledgeable about absolutely everything. He knew what he was talking about and you could feel the passion he had for teaching us what he knew. I recommend anyone thinking about taking the tour to do so. You won’t be let down.

Great tour!

We had a wonderful tour! Shane was our guide and he was really interactive and had lots of knowledge about the area! Leenane had a few cute shops to browse through and we saw beautiful views of Connemara before getting to Kylemore Abbey. We had a rainy day but were still able to walk the grounds, see the Abbey and see the gardens. We were a bit rushed to grab some food before getting to the bus, just because it wasn’t super quick to order and pay. The restaurant was busy and took a bit to get assistance to order food, so I would just keep that in mind. But they were able to put everything to go for us (even the delicious mousse)! Great day, beautiful sites, and great guide!

Cliffs of Moher

Really enjoyed the cliffs of Moher. The driver was very knowledgeable with the history of Ireland. The Ocean ride back was lovely.

Great day to spend a day!

Great trip. Gerry the driver/guide was excellent. Enjoyed all the stops. Cliffs were fun. Cave interesting. The lunch great. Just walking around and looking at the rocks and water was interesting. Wonderful way to spend a day.

Cliffs of Mohr are a must...

Cliffs of Mohr are a must see. Gerry was an excellent driver and guide. Very informative. The length of the stops was just right, and the lunch location was delicious and efficient. Great experience!
