I had a private tour from Cairo to Alexandria on November 3, 2025. My guide was Salma and Mohamed was our driver. Overall, I am extremely happy with the private tour and would definitely recommend it to somebody who is looking for an exciting private tour in Alexandria. After being picked-up on-time by Mohamed in Cairo at my hotel, we had a very smooth drive to Alexandria where we arrived at 10am at the first location. Salam, my guide, was already waiting for as there. During all the stops, Salma was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. The highlight was the Library of Alexandria, where Salma also works as a guide. Her knowledge and capability to connect all the different artefacts of the library into a coherent story made the experience very informative and easy to digest. After the last stop on the tour, Mohamed brought me back to my hotel – despite all the traffic and road conditions – safe and on-time.

One of the most disappointing guided tours we’ve taken. We booked a half-day Pyramids of Giza group tour with hotel pickup from Giza. • Booking experience: The process was smooth. We contacted the listed number here on Google Reviews, received a prompt response, booked online, and got immediate confirmation. • Tour experience: The tour itself was extremely underwhelming due to the guide (Syeed / Saed / Saad, sorry do not remember his name accurately). He did not appear to be a certified Egyptologist and provided no meaningful historical insight (nothing beyond what a basic Google search would offer). Even simple questions (like the overall area of the Giza Plateau) went unanswered. It was clear from the start that he was rushing the tour and more focused on upselling other tours by the company (e.g., Saqqara) than on the experience we had paid for. Instead of taking us closer to key sites or explaining their significance, he was keen on us doing photoshoots (more time-filling than guiding). He discouraged us from entering the Great Pyramid. (We had pre-booked ticket, so he had to wait; so did the rest of the group who didn't opt for it.) Funnily, we tourists had to insist on visiting the Sphinx up close, as he suggested viewing it only from a far distance to take photos. Do note, the Giza Plateau offers far more than just seeing the three pyramids. But due to poor guidance, we were unable to see or understand anything beyond that. At the end, the guide asked if we wanted to give bakshish “for the driver” whose role was limited to a short pickup only (<15 mins ride). While tipping is common, this felt misplaced given the quality of the tour, and the request appeared to use the driver’s name as a pretext to solicit a tip for himself. Overall, the tour lacked depth, professionalism, and genuine guidance. For a site as significant as the Pyramids of Giza, this experience was disappointing.
