Awesome tour, highly recommended!

Leo was an awesome guide that made our small group tour absolutely perfect. We had a great tiime learning more about port than I ever thought possible. The gastro stops and food selections were amazing. Highly recommend the tour and especially Leonor!

Great way to sample dishes

We had an enjoyable time trying different Scottish and Edinburgh foods at several venues that we wouldn't have tried otherwise. Our guide, Ann-Marie, was very entertaining. However, we did think there was going to be more alcoholic drinks to accompany the food. We also waiyed for a very long time at our first venue before we were served anything other than water.

Skip this tour if you want to eat or learn anything

We have taken nearly a dozen food tours with Eating Europe and competitors across Europe, so we’re very familiar with what to expect in terms of food quality, amount, walking, weather, different guide personalities and more. This was far and away the worst guide we’ve ever had, making the tour terrible. We had to leave after 90 minutes. In that NINETY MINUTES we’d only managed to get to two locations. We’d learned next to nothing about Amsterdam or the neighborhood we met in, but had learned more details about the guide’s personal life, immigration status and apartment situation than anyone ever needs to know. And while a few jokes about Amsterdam’s reputation for drugs can be funny, her MANY references to everyone getting or already being “blazed” had my teenage daughter uncomfortable by the time we left the tour. Additionally Sabrina spent a great deal of time “checking things” on her phone rather than engaging the group about the city or the food. Nor was she listening when we tried to engage. At just the first stop my mother in law and I said several times we didn’t want the alcoholic drink. It was only on the third attempt that she heard our request and changed the order — and in doing so managed to also cancel the drink serving that my husband DID want. So he got none. She struggled to manage a the large group of 12 people (more than we’ve ever had on prior tours) and left us deeply regretting the decision to give this tour a try. We’ve had good luck with Eating Europe several times in Italy and France. But this tour — and especially Sabrina — is a must skip.

Alda is the best guide! She really knew so much about Amsterdam. The food stops were incredible- I did not feel rushed eating and truly enjoyed the experience. The length of the tour was perfect and the canal cruise was the perfect way to end it. I highly recommend!

Our Tuk Tuk food tour with Melissa was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal! Melissa was absolutely amazing - so warm, knowledgeable, and passionate about the food and culture of Portugal. She shared so many interesting stories and insights throughout the tour, which made every stop even more special. We had the chance to try so many delicious foods and truly experienced a little bit of everything. Every restaurant and tasting was wonderful. Melissa went above and beyond to make my birthday extra special. She arranged for one of the restaurants to create a special birthday dessert for me, and it was absolutely delicious. Such a thoughtful surprise that I will never forget. I highly recommend Melissa and this eating Lisbon tour to anyone visiting Portugal. If you want great food, local culture, and an unforgettable experience, this is the tour to book!

Three hours seemed a long time when we booked however the time flew! The variety of food we tasted was fabulous as were the drinks that were included. Our guide Elena was lovely and very caring of us all as well as informative about the food and culture. The walks between stops were around 5 minutes and at the end we were comfortably full but not overly like we have experienced with other tours. The Jordaan district was very laid back and calm after the chaos of centre of Amsterdam.
