The tour was very good. I am very happy I went on it. Joao Miguel, the guide, was knowledgeable, funny, helpful, and went out of his way to make everyone feel great. He was A+++. Simply the best!

Great food tour
Fred was amazing and food and drinks too! He’s humor really lighted up the day! Loved the chicken and the soup.. some great wines and the cider was delicious!

Fred was 1,000,000/10 — honestly, we’d give him a billion if we could. This was the start of our honeymoon, and thanks to his humor, we spent more time laughing than breathing. If you’re lucky enough to get Fred, prepare for sore cheeks from smiling too much. Legendary!

We had the best time on this food and wine tour! Fred was so personable, funny and knowledgeable! In fact we took many of his recommendations, and even took our friends back to some of the spots on the tour. What a great intro to the great city of Lisbon! Thank you Fred!

Had a great time!
Fred was the man! Super outgoing and truly cared that each one of us was involved and enjoyed ourselves. He was also open to giving his personal recommendations, which was nice when trying to pick restaurants not included in the tour. His sense of humor opened up the group and relaxed everyone. Couldn’t recommend him enough!

The food tour with Cate was amazing to say the least! She was so fun, energetic, and knowledgable. The food we tried was delicious and we had the chance to learn some interesting facts about the history of Portugal. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend Kate!
Kate and Amanda were great! Such a fun, well paced tour with variety of yummy portuguese food at restaurants I would have never discovered on my own. Great combination of food sampling plus cultural and historical knowledge. It was a good sized group as well (12) so very inclusive, and a great way to connect with fellow travelers and food lovers. Highly recommend this tour and Kate specifically!

Not suitable for vegetarians
The tour itself was a fun introduction to Lisbon. This was great for the omnivores on my tour. However, along with not being vegan friendly this particular tour is absolutely not vegetarian friendly, no matter what the website says. While there are substitutions, they are in no way on par with the price. It felt cheap to get a pile of lettuce with a slice of tomato, a few cucumbers, and a quarter of a sliced avocado while my fellow tourist received octopus salad… or cheese (which would be repeated at another stop) and buttered mushrooms while the others got half a sandwich and fireman chorizo. While the company found time to respond to a different review I made on google (a positive one at that where I put the onus on myself), I’ve yet to hear from them about the email I sent about this issue. I understand that my dietary restriction makes things difficult, especially in Portugal; but if the effort wasn’t going to be made to make my experience match the price, I wish they had directed me to a pastry or wine tour instead after my initial email making sure that this tour could accommodate vegetarians. So a warning to my fellow veggies; come hungry, leave hungry.

Best food tour evah!
Fred was an outstanding guide. Loved his humor, knowledge of Lisbon history and Lisbon food. Took great care to get acquainted with all and for us to get acquainted with each other. Loved how the tastings finished with dessert. Have been on many food tours all over the world and Fred’s tour was one of the best! Thank you!
