Carlos Food Tour

Everywhere was a fantastic first experience in the city, great and interesting history, and our tour guide Carlos was extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

Too expensive

Ellie and Gabri were excellent and knowledgeable guides. At the end of the evening, I didn't want anything else to eat or drink. The food and wines were ok, nothing really spectacular. For the price I paid, I could have gotten a very nice, fancy meal. But it was a nice group of people and a pleasant way to spend the evening. If you book on a Sunday, go early to check out the market in the piazza.

This tour was so unique & each local restaurant had delicious specialties to try. It’s a must do!

Kristy was the perfect tour leader leading our group to special little restaurants led by local owners with each hosting interesting & delicious dishes to enjoy while winding our way through charming Lisbon. Learning about wine, Portuguese culture, seafood and other special dishes was such fun & so delicious. This is a must do trip. She was a great tour leader & we highly recommend travelers try this great tour.

A Flavorful Delight!

If you're a foodie visiting Amsterdam, this 3-hour food tour is an absolute must! From the very first bite to the last, this tour was a delightful adventure through the city’s best eateries, showcasing a mix of traditional Dutch flavors and modern twists. We started in a charming, bustling neighborhood where our guide, Gerard, a local expert, immediately made us feel welcome. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable, but his passion for Amsterdam’s culinary scene was contagious. He took us to hidden gems, offering insights into the history behind each dish, which added a personal touch to the experience. We began with apple pie - paired perfectly with a strong Dutch coffee. It was the ideal sweet start! We also tried haring (raw herring), a quintessential Dutch snack. It sounds daring, but it was surprisingly refreshing and paired well with the pickles and onions. The highlight was definitely the artisanal cheese stop. I’ve never tasted such rich, creamy gouda! The variety was mind-blowing—aged, smoked, and even truffle-infused cheeses. You could really taste the craftsmanship. Along the way, we also sampled local bitterballen (crispy meatballs) on a canal cruise. Each stop was thoughtfully curated, showing off the diverse flavors that make Amsterdam’s food scene so exciting. It felt more like an afternoon spent with friends than a guided tour. In just three hours, we ate like locals, explored parts of Amsterdam we might have otherwise missed, and had a blast. Highly recommended for anyone who loves food, culture, or just experiencing a city from a new perspective. An unforgettable, mouthwatering experience!

Great food! Great guide!

Had an amazing and delicious food tour with Fred from Eating Europe Lisbon. Fred is a treasure! He set the tone for a fun evening and all of us followed suit for lots of laughs and camaraderie. A real bonus was Fred’s incredible ability to share Lisbon’s culture and history and its impact on the many varied foods we tried. Would recommend this tour to all.

a wonderful experience.

What a wonderful experience. The food was amazing – it was varied in kind, and yet the quality was excellent in each place. But it was more than just the food. We experienced so many fun parts of Soho, and had fun, listening to the stories told by the guide, Jordana, and also laughing and interacting with the other tour participants. It was a small group of fun people. This was well worth the money and one of our favorite experiences.

Scottish food highlights in 3 hours!!

We had a fantastic tour with Emory!! From the start to finish - she was so informative with a lot of history mixed in with classic Scottish dishes and great places to go. She also gave options based on allergies and other special dietary needs. Highly recommend her tour.

A lot of food and wine was superb! Even went back to buy the olive oil we tasted on tour. The gelato was the bomb!!!! And I’m not a sweet lover… overall our guide was excellent in little details of our surroundings as well as the food. He catered to all the needs of his group!

Food and Fun

Wonderful experience! Lizzie was fantastic, very informative and interesting. Highlighted the history of Soho and stories of how it came to be and change over time. We learned so much about the history of Soho. The food and drink choices were great. Everything was delicious! Tasting new dishes and drinks. Lizzie was a blast and engaging. She made the tour fun and something we will always remember. I highly recommend this.

Excellent evening led by Leo

We had an excellent evening led by the brilliant Leo. To manage expectations, this is not fine dining, you are eating local specialities in a variety of venues. It’s also not a drunken pub crawl. I’d estimate we had around 6-7 units of alcohol over the 3 hours. However, it is a splendid way to orientate yourself in Porto and learn a lot about the history and culture of the city. Whilst there is obviously a structure to the tour, the conversations over food and drinks flow into many different topics relating to the City. To a certain extent your experience is dependent on your fellow guests and how well you click, but there’s quite a skill in the guide’s ability to build bridges between the different groups. I liked that we had food and drinks i wouldn’t order, in places i wouldn’t have gone to and yet had an excellent evening with Leo and our fellow guests.
