Lisbon food tour

My husband & I along with our kids (both in their 20’s) took the 4 hour food tour yesterday. Our guide David was very informative and chose some great spots to take us to. There were 11 total in our group and David was able to manage allergies and dietary restrictions at all locations. We had ample portions at each location, and all were sit-down venues in locally owned restaurants. We had typical Portuguese food, port wine, ceviche, beer, wine, Mozambique samosas, seafood, pork sandwiches, and more! We were in Chiado and Alfama; it was our 1st day in Lisbon so I’m not sure where else we were. David shared with us a lot about Portuguese history and culture throughout the tour, answered many questions, and gave recommendations of where to go and what to see here. Everyone in our family enjoyed it very much!

Dimitri, our guide, grew...

Dimitri, our guide, grew up in the neighborhood and was superb. The food was at old generational establishments and local specialties, refreshingly not the touristy list. The drink list and exposure/education alone was worth the price. Thank you!

enjoyable evening but no herring

We had a very enjoyable evening out with Gerrard our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the food we were trying and we had plenty to eat for our evening meal. I loved the apple pie at the end. One disappointment was no herring or other fish as the shops were closed. I wish that had been described in the details as I would have booked an earlier tour. We enjoyed learning about the area and the purpose of the courtyards as well as the influence of Indonesian food. We were a group of 13 to accommodate a child (10yod?) which did make it a bit snug in a few places. The time spent, distance traveled and amount of food was just right. I would recommend this tour and Gerrard.

Amazing experience!!! The places we went were so quant and authentic. The food was delicious and there was a nice assortment of different tastings. Our guide Fred was amazing. He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the history and origins of the food. I highly recommend this experience.

Fun history tour of food and Florence.

Serena was an amazing guide and the tour was outstanding. Great food stops along with the meats and cheeses. This is, as explained originally peasant food taken to a new level. If you love great food with some fun history thrown in, this is the tour for you.

Foodie fun!

Lindsay Linguini is an awesome tour guide. She is warm, friendly and knowledgable. We had a great time with her eating tapas, drinking vermouth, and seeing the sights. Even our 16 year old had a great time!

My best Greek experience

My favorite part of this trip so far, it doesn’t get any better than a local showing the best food. I’m celiac and couldn’t eat some things but the things I could were amazing and they were so careful with letting meme what was safe to eat. Awesome experience!
