Awesome time!
Great time! Highly recommend! Started with shopping for ingredients, even visited the tortilla factory, made margaritas to start, then salsa, guacamole, corn tortilla, seafood medley. Live one man band music playing while we ate. SO FUN!! Thank you Issi (chef) for a great time in Cabo!

Great way to experience Mexican Cuisine.
There were only 7 of us total on the tour. We were able to walk to and from the location from downtown Playa Del Carmen. We had a great time making tortillas. Alma was awesome.

2nd Time…The BEST time!
Two years ago my husband and I did this tour and we loved it, so we knew we needed to do it again with our best friends on their first trip to San Jose del Cabo. Alan was our guide for the evening and took us to places that we would’be never found on our own; the most unique locations, full of colour and culture. It was only the four of us on the tour, making us feel extra VIP as we learned about Mexican cuisine, culture, traditions and of course tequila. Alan went above and beyond at each stop making sure we understood the menu options and choices, made his own recommendations to us and even worked his magic to get us incredibly fresh churros (when the long line seemed too daunting to wait in). The last stop with the tequila tasting was incredibly informative and lots of fun. I learned more about tequila than I ever knew before! I now know how to properly drink it and how it is made and aged. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat and would ask for Alan as my guide.

This was my second cooking class in Mexico and chose this one particularly because of the market tour. Even being a So Cal guy who is fairly experienced with Mexican cuisine, I learned plenty from Chef Enrique's knowledge of the ingredients and their history, availability in the U.S., etc. It helped "round out" my understanding of where ingredients are sourced and how they are prepared for the market (e.g., seeing the mixtalization process, and learning various forms of corn/masa available for purchase). You get a real behind-the-scenes feel in the market tour, which was fantastic. Once the cooking part got going, hold onto your hats! The focus of the day was on birria preparation, but once the salsa parade began, every hand in the kitchen was put to use to cut, peel, and grind seven (!!) different salsas, plus guacamole. Handmade tortillas were completed perfectly in time for the birria to be ready for lunch, along with jimaica tea and sips from Enrique's personal collection of mezcales and tequilas. Chef Enrique is quite a character. His easy-going and jovial personality made the whole day enjoyable in the welcoming environment of his stylish and modern home (along with his wife and helpers) just a short cab ride from the Zona Romantica. Highly recommended for all levels of chefs/cooks.

Alma was such an inviting host and instructor. I appreciated how she simplified the process of making the food while not sacrificing the flavor. I think we can actually replicate what we learned. And the food was delicious…the best we had in Mexico!

Delicious authentic food
This tour was excellent. Delicious food at different taco restaurants that we would not have found on our own. Took us to more authentic Mexican areas of town. Miguel was both knowledgeable and entertaining. Come hungry. Well worth the cost.

Best night ever!!!
I had so much fun learning how to do so many different things and learning about the Mexican culture. I highly recommend trying this out!! Got to make some pico de gallo, guacamole and some corn tortillas, margaritas and got to do so many other things.

We thoroughly enjoyed the market tour and learned a lot about Mexican cuisine. It was so nice to see Chef Enrique's home and cook a variety of salsas and make fresh tortillas for our tacos. Chef also made a delicious pork belly dish. He was very knowledgeable and his wife and helpers were very friendly. These were the best tacos we ever had! Also a great way to support a local entrepreneur and business!

Wonderful taco/food tour in Cabo - shoutout to our guide Juan!
We had a wonderful time on the "Cabo San Lucas Downtown Food and Tacos Tasting Experience", which we booked with the Juan More Taco Tour company through Viator. Our tour guide was Juan, who was both professional and super kind & friendly as he led us through the walking tour. We learned about some of the history of Cabo San Lucas and why there is a diversity of food from different regions of Mexico in this tourist-focused town. Most of the shops that we stopped by were in the less-touristy side, away from the Marina, so it was definitely helpful to have Juan's recommendations and local knowledge. Over the course of the tour, we tried: 1) Chips & salsa, followed by sopes with chicken / beef / chorizo options, at Mercabo Gourmet Street Food (the starting & ending point of the food tour) 2) Taco de rajas con queso y crema (creamy roasted peppers) and cabeza (beef head), plus horchata and super-refreshing agua de jamaica (hibiscus tea), at Los Taco May. We were able to pick any taco from the menu that we wanted to try. 3) Birria taco on freshly-handmade tortillas at Taqueria Morelos 4) Stewed marlin and fried sea bass tacos, plus more hibiscus tea and horchata, at Los Claros. We also had several different options here for which taco we wanted to try. 5) Strawberry and soursop sorbet at La Michoacana - this place had so many different flavors of dairy ice creams, non-dairy sorbets, and popsicles. I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted; Juan recommended the strawberry and soursop sorbets, both of which were so refreshing and delicious in the warm November weather and after all of the savory foods that we'd had. 6) Al pastor and shrimp tacos at El Paisa (the most tourist-y spot that we went to; still good though) 7) Churros with chocolate and condensed milk, back at Mercabo Gourmet Street Food - so yummy! 8) Tequila tasting to end the tour, with no obligation to buy (we sampled a few that sounded interesting but did not buy any) Overall I'd highly recommend doing this tour if you have ~3 hours to spare on your trip to Cabo. Come hungry - I was stuffed full by the end of the tacos portion (but of course still had room for the desserts). Shoutout to our amazing tour guide Juan!

Such a great tour! We loved Karina and Jorge! She had a great energy and taught us alot about Mexico and the cuisine, qnd the Tequila tasting was very educational as well!! Highly recommend this tour. Will have to do the cooking class next time. Lovely family run business.

This was a great experience! I enjoyed going to the market and learning about the cheeses and frozen fish! It was an interactive experience. Then we went back to the chefs house which was so lovely, I loved the people in the class and the whole day was so much fun

Amazing experience
If I were to recommend anything while visiting Cabo San Lucas, it would be this cooking class with Chef Issi. Not only was the food and drinks that we made delicious, but the ambiance and music was great and it really put us in a great mood to do some cooking. I’m not a big cook myself but I learned so much and it wasn’t too hard to make! We were able to go visit a local produce shop, tortilla factory, and fish market as well which gave us a look into authentic Cabo.

So fun!! Small group of 8 adults from various parts of the world. The food and drinks were amazing. Francisco and his family were wonderful hosts and felt like family when we left. We highly recommend this experience and well worth the value!
