Giverny with Hendricks
Beautiful gardens. Hendricks was very informative and enthusiastic. Learned a lot about Claude Monet. Well worth it!

DO NOT book with City Wonders!
DO NOT BOOK WITH CITY WONDERS! They over promised, which would justify the price difference to the other tours but will deliver the same tour. We booked the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica tour. A day before, I confirmed if St Peter’s Basilica was included which they said that our tour did and that only the Sistine Chapel was closed due to the conclave. But to no avail, when we asked the tour guide, he said that they were told not to bring the guests to St Peter’s Basilica. Additionally, the viator itinerary said that there will be a stop at the Sphere within a Sphere which again did not happen. I reported this to both viator and the tour operator but the tour operator only gave a partial refund of 10% out of “goodwill” since they do not take responsibility and admit that they under delivered. Viator, on the other hand, cannot provide a refund that is not approved by the operator. I could have booked the same tour at half the price. But the price increment was justified for me since they had more stops as listed in their itinerary, which they did not do. Don’t be scammed. Stay away from CITY WONDERS.

Hamish made our entire Louvre experience. He was incredibly insightful, humorous, and answered every question without flinching. My group of friends and I learned so much in our time with Hamish and we would’ve been absolutely lost without him

Nice place, large group, not a lot of time
Good experience. Long day and only a few stops with short time. Being a large group, that is what you can expect. I recommend the radio is used to communicate throughout the entire experience when walking with the group. There were times we couldn’t hear.

Friendly guide, easy to locate tour group
Guide was amazing and tour was definitely worth it. Would highly recommend. We were unable to see the Basilica because the Pope just died which is the highlight of the trip. I wish they would have mentioned this prior to starting but they also can’t control that so it is understandable. Definitely a great tour, but beware it is VERY crowded.

Be fit to climb the stairs. It is worth going up. The view is splendid! There are many options to eat but no place to rest in the island.

Toooooo long...
Unfortunately, this tour was not great. The timings on the listing were unrealistic. We were gone for 15 hours on this tour, but did not come prepared with enough water or food because the listing was misleading. They decided to go to Sorrento first to "avoid the cruise ship crowds," and it took us 5.5 hours to get there (including two 30-minute mandatory breaks for the driver). The traffic was horrible, and I got extremely nauseous from the stop-and-go nature of the drive (I understand the traffic is unpredictable and not the drivers fault). We ended up spending only 1 hr, 20 minutes in Sorrento, which was barely enough time to grab something to eat, see the water, and head back to the bus. We then spent another hour heading back to Pompeii, only to have the bus driver drive past the exit. They finally announced that Pompeii had an "emergency" and we would not be admitted to the site, so they decided to reroute us and take us to a different archeological site. We ended up going to Herculaneum, which was a lot cooler than I expected it to be, but we could only spend about an hour there before it closed. We then had another three hour drive back to Rome. Overall, everyone on the bus was exhausted, miserable and a bit cranky. Many missed dinner reservations or different evening events because the listing was misleading on how long it would take. We also didn't get to see Pompeii, which was the entire reason for the trip. I wish we had gone to Pompeii first, and then cut off Sorrento when it appeared the traffic was horrible. Then we would have actually been able to spend several hours there, and gotten our money's worth. But we spent 11 hours on a bus for only about 3 hours worth of experience. Not worth it at all.

POMPEI file d attente de 2 heures pour acheter les billets d’entrée à 22 € car il n’y a que 2 caisses. Lamentable Ensuite prévoir 4 à 5 heures de visite Pas grand chose à voir à part des kilomètres et des kilomètres de maisons en ruines et 1 ou 2 mosaiques. Pas très intéressant

Fantastic!
This was wonderful! Chiara had to shift our tour due to the Sistine Chapel being closed for the Conclave. She is a true student of art and spent extra time in the Vatican Museums showing us art by Raphael that is typically not seen. Fantastic tour! Well worth the extra cost to have a smaller group!

We took this tour based on the Rick Steves recommendation and couldn't be happier - we saw so many things and our tour guide was very informative. She really helped us see all the sights and point out other great sites.
