Our guide was very, very...
Our guide was very, very knowledgeable and informative but we had some difficulty in understanding her through the radio at times. Unfortunately we were not able to experience the entire tour we originally purchased, at no fault of any of the parties due to the upcoming Conclave, so we look forward to our next experience in the future. We will definitely book through Viator once again as their Vendors have been quite good!

Vatican Tour
We toured the Vatican Museums and St Peter's Basilica with Alessia from Eyes of Rome tour guides. Eyes of Rome and Alessia were both excellent. We started early in the morning to avoid the worst of the crowds but the Vatican was still very busy at 7.30am, but manageable. Alessia was extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of the tour. Unfortunately the Sistine Chapel was closed for the conclave and we had to exit the Vatican to then queue for St Peter's Basilica. This was fairly chaotic with only one x-ray machine in operation on our line (despite numerous not being used) to check bags before entry. Then we had to wait for several hundred pilgrims to enter ahead of us (this was very poorly managed by the Vatican staff). Our tour therefore significantly over-ran, our pick-up driver had to depart without us but our tour guide remained, which she didn't have to do (thank you). We recognise this is an unusual year at the Vatican so we're not at all annoyed and appreciated the guidance and patience of our tour guide. St Peter's Basilica was a spectacle worth waiting for!

Try opting for a more private experience rather than a bus tour
Having done the tour, I will recommend one not to do it through a group tour but select a private one. Good- the organizers are very good. They are on time. You will get to visit a limoncello factory, small quaint town of Sorrento and a guided tour of Pompei. Our lead guide was very good who gave good advise along the way. Guided tour at Pompei is good. You may be able to do this if you are booking on your own also. Not recommended - 80% of the tour is just traveling in the bus. I would recommend driving on your own, taking a train on your own or just opting for a private tour instead. You will get to save time instead of traveling on a bus and just stopping over in Sorrento for lunch. You will also just ride along the coast with very limited time on the coast itself. What did not help was there were 2 loud couples just behind us in the bus who kept talking loudly while the guide was speaking.

Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s semi private combo tour - BEWARE!
Booked this semi private combo tour for the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel & St Peter’s Basicilla. With the Pope passing away, the Sistine Chapel was closed to tours & we understood that - no problem. Confirmed St Peter’s portion was still included & received written reply that it was & that the Vatican Museum tour would be a little longer to make up for not being able to do Sistine Chapel - we were perfectly fine with that. At the end of the Vatican Museum tour, the guide said that was it & we weren’t going to St Peter’s even though it was open for tours & there was nothing she could do about it. Everyone in our tour group had the same confirmation & was very upset about this sudden change for no explained reason. She wouldn’t even call her office for all of us to try to sort it out - just left the whole group there trying to figure out how to sort it out ourselves. I have emailed the tour group & gotten no response. We could have just done a Vatican Museum tour by itself for much less than this tour cost & would have cancelled & just done that if they had not confirmed St Peter’s was still part of the tour. Felt totally ripped off.

Good visit!
Overall good visit. A lot of great historical background from both John & Sam. I thought we had a tad but too much political commentary on current events( most was intended as humor-but didn’t fly) The sites were as expected- w the cemetery being the most inspiring. Also- please note in the instructions for the day- can’t bring eats and certainly not a cup of tea to start your 7A bus ride!

Great tour and great Guide!
Lovely day trip out of Rome. Our guide Jonathan was an American - which made the English easy to understand. On top of that he was very passionate about Italy and its history, honestly even more so than the local guides we had on other tours. Vesuvius was the highlight of the trip. Once at Pompeii, you are guided by a Napoli guide from Pompeii and that was not as enjoyable and felt a little rushed. But still, it's an amazing ruin and its very cool to see the Roman society a little better preserved than you see in Rome (where there's almost no Roman history to be found outside of the walls or colleseum). Truly enjoyed this and would recommend it.

Positano was an unexpected bonus of this trip. Spectacular. Italian traffic, especially around, holidays, can be messy. But our tour guide Angela rolled with it and made sure we got the most of our day. Excellent value overall.

Went to Rome on our honeymoon. Pope passed away. Watched our emails closely for any communication about changes to tour. NOTHING. Arrived for our tour. Right away the tour guide Stephanie stated the Sistine Chapel closed the night before and would not be included with tour. No communication the night before, just told us when we arrived. No calls, texts or emails. No chance to cancel, or reschedule was given. Nothing. Skip the line was still a wait to get into the museum. Multiple tours in line, walk to the end of the wait line was down the block. Tour was long and drawn out in the Vatican museum. Then our guide, Stephanie, read to us from a paper pamphlet in the process of selecting a Pope for twenty minutes. The room was super hot and felt like I was in grade school again. I did not pay for this! I found it odd we were given directions to go to St. Peter’s Basilica when we paid for a semi private GUIDED tour. Our guide left us at a gift store in the museum. That was it! Even though St Peter’s square and St Peter’s Basilica was OPEN. I then complained to Viator. Explained NO COMMUNICATION from company night before and did not get the tour I paid for. And Guide did not take us to St Peter’s Basilica. So I did not receive 2/3 of the GUIDED tour I purchased. I got a 10% refund from the company for circumstances beyond their control. I paid $280.70 and they gave me back $28.70. Unbelievable.

Everything was very well...
Everything was very well organized! We appreciated exact instructions on how to get to the meeting point. The driver and guides, Mathilda and Sylvia, were very nice, polite and thoughtful. Our driver even had water you could buy from him at a fair price during the ride. There is no restroom on the bus, but we appreciated the stop on the highway halfway through the ride. Although the guides were super nice, competent and polite, we were not expecting to have to use an audioguide while touring the abbey. Essentially the guides are not guides but escorts to accompany the group from the bus to the abbey. They did provide however useful historical info while on the bus.

Normandy and NotreDame and Sante Chappel
Maja and Sam were fantastic. If you can schedule with them you will have an enjoyable time. Maja also gave us a preview of Notre Dame and Sante Chapelle that made us schedule the outside tour of. Notre Dame and pass the line to Sante Chapelle. Both were Worth the price.

Skip the Line and see the Highlights with Séverine
We recently took a guided tour of the Louvre with Séverine and would absolutely recommend the experience overall. The entry process was seamless and much quicker than going it alone, which was a major plus given how busy the museum can get. Séverine was a knowledgeable and engaging guide who brought the museum's highlights to life. She provided detailed explanations and was happy to answer all our questions, which made the tour feel informative and personable. We got to see the major masterpieces without feeling overwhelmed or rushed. That said, the group size was larger than we usually prefer (around 24 people) which made things a bit less intimate. Additionally, the audio equipment wasn’t perfect, with the microphones occasionally cutting out. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it’s something to be aware of. One unrelated note: exiting the Louvre is surprisingly complicated and time-consuming, so plan for a little extra time (and patience) at the end. All in all, it was a worthwhile way to explore the Louvre, especially for a first-time visit or if you want a solid overview of the museum’s top works with expert insight.

Natasha was an amazing guide however this tour as a whole, I wouldnt recommend. You spend majority of your day on a bus. 10hrs out of the 14hr day was spent sitting on a bus. The 45mins of Amalfi is a scenic view from bus rather than a stop. You have 1.5hrs in Sorrento which is not enough time for lunch, meaning you dont eat until later in the day and you eat on the bus on the way back to Rome. Unfortunately we couldnt get into Pompeii due to a emergency, however the guide quickly organised another alternative which was great and the tour guides were great but again was only 1.5hrs of the bus. I would recommend staying in Sorrento for 1 night min to really experience it otherwise be prepared to be travelling by bus for majority of the day and returning to Rome approx 10pm

Excellent day trip
Our tour guide Serena was excellent. Very knowledgeable not only about Murano and Burano but about Venice in general. She provided very interesting information about Venice and as we passed by different areas and different islands she gave concise and interesting commentary. The Murano glassworks was fascinating, and the pieces in their galley were breathtaking. Burano is a lovely place and watching the lace being made by hand is amazing. Lots of places to grab a meal or a snack and of course to shop! One caution - we met at a monument on the waterfront area a kettle down from the Piazza San Marco but then had a bit of a walk to get to the boat. Just a warning in case someone in your party is uncomfortable walking a medium distance. Once you get to the boat there’s really no other situations of concern.
