The castle is interesting to visit. The entrance fee is quite expensive, but if you've come from far away, it's one of those places you simply have to see. Tickets can be purchased at the square below the castle, where the entrance is located, or you can buy them online. We visited on a Sunday morning (approximately 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.). There were already quite a few people, but it was still manageable. However, by the time we were leaving, there was already a large queue of visitors waiting to get in. That's why I recommend visiting early in the day—not only to avoid the crowds, but also because some parts of the castle are literally only wide enough for one person, so heavy crowds will definitely make it difficult to fully enjoy the visit. As for the connection with Vlad the Impaler, there is practically none. The association comes mainly from the legend of "Count Dracula." I visited the castle for its architecture and other historical attractions. I also recommend paying the extra 30 lei to visit the torture chamber exhibition. It is very interesting, but absolutely not suitable for children.
