The popular claim that Vlad the Impaler lived or was stationed here is not supported by strong historical evidence and is considered by many historians to be a myth. Likewise, Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, had very little direct connection to the castle itself, drawing inspiration primarily from the historical figure of Vlad rather than from Bran Castle. The castle is picturesque from the outside and certainly makes for an impressive sight. However, the visit inside felt underwhelming. The entrance fee is already quite high, and visitors are asked to pay extra to access additional rooms and exhibitions. Given that the castle is relatively small and can be explored in a short amount of time, this pricing model feels difficult to justify.
