We booked three days on the Explorer Bus. It was very convenient as the bus travelled from Leura to Katoomba via a number of great places to alight and explore. The buses were clean and well presented. The drivers were knowledgable, patient with some passengers, informative and took the vehicle at an acceptable pace around the pre-planned circuit. For us, it was incredibly convenient.

Great day out. The hop on hop off bus worked really well for us. Angus the driver was helpful and very friendly. Great singalongs! Scenic World was interesting and lots of walks to do. Great lookout points along the whole route. Would recommend if you only have a few days in the area as we did.

I paid extra for Scenic World. I took the sky thing over to the SW base in an overcrowded gondola. That overcrowding was nothing compared to what I experienced when I got there. There were about 15 bus loads of tourists, and getting to anything was next to impossible. When I arrived I was informed that the ride I had been most interested in [the railroad] was no longer operating. I was given a voucher in compensation - that bought me an ice cream bar. The experience was terrible and I decided to skip it and move on. Then I determined that the next bus would not be there for an hour, so I took a public bus back to the train station and went back to Sydney.

Hop on Hop off bus was good. please note that when you buy this ticket the HOHO part is valid for 3 days. This was not stated when I purchased through you, and I had bought another separate day ticket. The Explorer office explained this when I arrived the day before.

Stop #6 provides the "Wow factor " of looking into the huge valley of the Blue Mountains. We actually stayed two nights in Katoomba to stop multiple times on the bus tour, but s one-day tour from Sydney would have been sufficient. The overlook trail we hiked was not at all as described on the brochure; not sure what happened. We hiked up through the woods, but it didn't lead anywhere. The town of Leura was extremely touristy, over hyped, and overpriced.
