Disappointed. One of the buses just didn’t turn up as per timetable. Very expensive and long wait times between buses. Better off getting local buses, more flexibility and a lot cheaper.

Comfortable bus, on-time, friendly, informative drivers, excellent guidebook. Bought my ticket in person and received helpful tips from staff. (Recommendations are also in the guidebook.) Explorer bus makes many stops for viewing and hiking. Lots to see. Start early and enjoy the day (or two) in the mountains.

Ich bin nur am scenic Park ausgestiegen, für alles andere war mir zu heiß. Also hätte ich dahin auch einfach mit dem öffentlichen bus fahren können aber das war ja meine Entscheidung. War schön, entspannt.

Great way to check out blue Mountains loop through the double decker bus Hassle free although the staff who hands out the bus ticket at Katoomba station office must mention that scenic world entry needs wrist bands. We were standing in line at the sky rail for a while before staff had to pull us out to give us bar coded wrist bands based on the Explorer bus bookings. Probably wasted us 15 minutes. Other than that was pretty good.

Overall very good experience and service. However one major issue was the fact that after waiting 20 mins in Eastern Station cable car queue (in the roasting sun!) I was informed that I should have a bar coded wrist band. I had to leave the queue to obtain this band and by the time I rejoined the queue, 4 more buses had arraived which quadrupled the length of queue! I gave up and caught shuttle bus to Secenic World (Stop 10). SOLUTION - the drive should have advised us of this band requirement from the outset.

Buses were consistently inconsistent Often waiting over an per time at the bus stops. Wasted most of the day waiting. Last part of the day ended up getting a regular bus and paying again. Standing room only on most buses, save your money and use a regular bus

Absolute disgrace of a service. Bus every 30m in holiday period as the timetable states. Waited over 1h at 2 stops. Some stops were not served due to a full bus, even when people were waiting. Given the very angry reaction of some people, they were also clearly waiting for a (very) long time. You pay an expensive ticket for a service that is totally not provided. Went to explain the situation in the main office, no offer of a refund was made. Yes it is a busy holiday period but it is your job to plan ahead and make sure you live up your end of the deal.

We enjoyed every bit of it. We bought a family ticket and our ticket was extended to the next day because we stayed overnight in Katoomba. I parked my car at the hotel and used the bus to explore various places. There were at least two buses running. We also enjoyed the live commentary. Drivers were polite and greeted us every time we hop on. We used the extended ticket both days as one day was not enough to explore what the blue mountain offers. There are local buses also available but those can get you some of the destinations very cheap but will be boring. Sit on the top of the bus for better experience. Its worth every penny to explore on this bus.

Not very wheelchair friendly. And not following the schedule at all. You are better off with local bus that run 3x times more frequently than waiting an hour for these hop on hop offs. We got on first bus that terminated at stop 6. Then we waited on stop 6 for 30mins. A bus came and said it would terminate on stop 7. We waited for another 30 min and a bus came and stopped 200 m before the stop. My dad on wheelchair again had to manouver wheelchair and go off the stop to get on bus. Driver was very rude and did not wait for wheelchair to be parked and started moving bus. I asked him to stop till wheelchair is locked. It was a safety and health hazard to drive off without giving a min to wheelchair to park and lock. The driver name was Gu. The buses terminated at every stop whereas they shouldnt.
