Excellent introduction to Osaka Street Food

This tour gave an excellent exposure to the street food in Osaka. We sampled a range of dishes and Japanese sweets on the tour. Our guide Keataro was brilliant, and shared many anecdotes and little known facts about Osaka with us. He was particularly helpful in choosing the dishes for my wife who is a vegetarian.

Best food tour ever!

We had an amazing time with jane. The food was phenomenal and we really enjoyed her company and all the tips, tricks, do‘s and don‘ts she described to us. There just wasn‘t enough time so we will definetly come back! Thx again for the unforgettable experience.

Excellent tour off the beaten path

This review is a long time coming. I did a private tour of Yanaka and it was lovely from start to finish. My guide, Satoko, was very personable. I was fascinated by both the history of Yanaka and contemporary Japanese culture overall. She was happy to answer my questions and was so much fun to talk to as we strolled through the streets of this quaint neighborhood. Often, tours can take you to shops that are tourist traps, but that wasn't the case here. Every shop and vendor we visited clearly was a staple to the local community. I mentioned to Satoko that I was hoping to buy a couple bottles of aged sake for my husband and she went out of her way to help me find a local store and communicated with the shopkeeper what I was looking for. I highly recommend this tour for people looking to see a side of Tokyo often overlooked.

Yummy tour!

Spent the afternoon with Ema and had a great time. Full meal eaten as you walk around the fashion area. Loved every place he took us.

I came out more stuffed than at Thanksgiving!

This was the best food tour I've participated in my life! Daniel was a great guide, full of knowledge, really fun, funny and made the whole night super exciting - besides having great taste in food. I never ate so much on a food tour before, the food was in endless waves! Come hungry! And expect loads of cool spots, stories and new knowledge about the hidden markets of Tokyo :)

Fantastic food tour of Shibuya

We did the best of Shibuya food tour with Jane. It was fantastic. Jane is so friendly and helpful, with so much local knowledge, history, tradition and food preparation. We ate so much, and in places we would never find without her. The sushi was to die for! We couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Absolutely fantastic tour with lovely Saika! So much delicious food that we would never have found on our own. We enjoyed sushi (melt in the mouth), ramen, okonomiyaki, chicken wings, gyoza and red bean/pancake like dessert, beers, sake and soft drink. Saika was fun, bubbly, and informative! This is a must do to discover Shibuya culinary delights.

Great tour, great guide!

This was a really great tour! Tomo was our guide and navigated us through the Shinsekai district of Osaka, stopping for food and drinks at two excellent restaurants, and for snacks and street food along the way. Tomo also introduced us to a range of street games and (our favourite) a fantastic Japanese knife shop. He was great on his information and tradition, but also just a fun person to hang out with for an evening, and very kindly helped us out with the route home afterwards. We loved this, and would recommend to anyone!

EK was an amazing guide, super knowledgeable about both the food we ate, the culinary history of Osaka and the area in which the tour took place. He threw in some delightful surprises that we we were not expecting, a quick visit to a hideaway shrine and a Japanese cooking knife demonstration with the excellent people at Tower Knives. All in all a very enjoyable experience, that we’d highly recommend.

Perfect morning Tsukiji market tour!

We booked direct with Arigato Tours, no issues with booking. Our tour was led by Jacob, who was excellent and obviously is known and well liked by lots of the vendors. The food was fabulous and there was a great variety. I'd highly recommend this tour!

We booked directly with Arigato Travel. Daniel was our tour guide and he was great! Lots of good stories and info to share. He was very patient with one quirky person on the tour! Shibuya was a great place to have a tour guide as lots of the good food is up on a higher floor and as a tourist from the US, I would've missed these, as I'm not used to looking upstairs for restaurants.

Fun way to dine through Kyoto

This was a really enjoyable tour. Laiana was an engaging giude, our family really enjoyed chatting with her and the other family on the tour. The food was delicious and not too daring, which was really nice for the less adventuresome half of our family. And there was certainly no shortage of food and drink!

The tour was excellent. We sampled all different kinds of Japanese food and drink. Kevin our guide was great. He is originally from England and is fluent in Japanese. He was very knowledgeable and took us to an amazing local sushi restaurant. I would highly recommend this tour.
