We did the Shinjuku Golden Gai tour with Jacob and it was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and shared some very interesting history and also made it super fun at the same time. The food spots were great and we got to go to some places that we never would have found on our own. Has definitely been one of the highlights of our trip so far! Thanks Jacob :)

Arigato street food walking tour. Fantastic host, Kevin. Very informative, knowledgeable and helpful. We had lots of fun, some great local food from Osaka, Japan’s ‘kitchen’. I particularly enjoyed the visit to Tower Knives. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The knife demonstration was an eye opener and I got the chance to try knives for myself. I even purchased a knife. Thank you Kevin and Arigato Travel!

My friends and I did the golden gai food tour with Wesley. We learned so much about the city from him and we tasted a wide variety delicious food. He took us places we would have never found on our own and he was fun to hang out with. Definitely come hungry!! Lastly, he took photos throughout the tour and provided edited copies shortly after which wasn’t expected but was a nice add. Thank you!

My husband and I had an incredible experience with Arigato for our food tour around Kyoto. Our tour guide, Noboru, provided us with a wonderful experience. He was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about Kyoto and Japanese culture in general. All of our stops we made were awesome - whether it be to sample different tastes of local cuisine or to learn how to properly observe a prayer at a Buddhist shrine, we had an incredible time and learned so much! We couldn't recommend this tour more and will remember it forever.

My husband, brother & sister-in-law did the Kyoto Matcha Green Tea Tour in Uji with Lunch of Arigato Travel and had an amazing time! Our guide, Atsuko, was the perfect tour guide - very knowledgeable, accomodating & pleasant. It was a joy to be with her - she gave us enough time to enjoy the sights & take pictures without rushing us. Lunch was delicious at this quaint resto serving tempura & matcha noodles. The Matcha Tea making was hands-on. We enjoyed the facts about Ujigami Jinja Shrine & Byōdō-in Temple. Over-all it was an unforgettable food tour, ending with yummy matcha ice cream. Would highly recommend this tour & our wonderful guide, Atsuko!

Had an excellent time with Atsuko. She truly lived up to the reputation and my expectation of Japanese nationals. Her friendly and helpful personality helped made our guided tour today of Uji very memorable. She took us to this restaurant where we had the most delicious meal especially the matcha noodle soup. Atsuko also took us to the various Matcha based food establishments, where we not only made into tea the matcha leaves we grinded, but also learned a brief history and on its ceremony rituals. Finally, she showed us the Byodoin Temple and its historical significance, before having us taste one of the best matcha ice cream in the area. Hope to see you again soon, Atsuko (also know as Ako). Mabuhay ka “Ako” 🙂

We went on the Absolute Food Tour in Osaka with Kevin and it was wonderful! Kevin was extremely knowledgable about Osaka food scene as well as Osaka in general. He was also super personable and answered all of our questions. We tasted a lot of really good food and it felt like we went to authentic local spots.

Kay, with Arigato Travel, led a great food tour of Tokyo’s back alleys in Shimbashi. She is knowledgeable, thoughtful, full of very interesting factoids, totally likable and very funny! We laughed, we drank sake, we told stories and we ate many interesting foods. Dessert, had I not been too full to partake, might have been the highlight. But the ginger skewer was def my favorite. (p.s.Kay takes great photos, too)

My husband and I loved our food tour with Arigato! Our guide was Jane for the Shibuya Night tour. We were blown away by how amazing this experience was! Jane selected 5 different types of restaurants for us to try- accommodating our food restrictions. They were all 10/10. We’ve been on many food tours but this was the best one yet. Jane was very knowledgeable and shares stories of Japanese culture with us. She really made it an incredible tour that was a highlight of the trip!

The asakusa tour was a highlight of our trip and something we would recommend people do if in Tokyo. We did it on our first day in Tokyo as it helped us with how to approach dining and eating for the rest of our trip. The tour was a great combination of food and history. The visits to the shrine and temple were also invaluable for our understanding of how to approach these for all the rest we visited on the trip. We tried food we wouldn’t otherwise have known to try. The kids had fun and it was great seeing the unexpected tastes that were their favourite. Really recommend this if you can. Michie was our guide and she was lovely and knowledgeable throughout.
