Melissa led us on a great tour through Shibuya one evening. She was patient while we navigated through town to meet her and did a great job of explaining the history of the neighborhood as well as each dish and restaurant. We made five stops and had great food at each one, we even did a bonus stop at the toy machine arcade and everyone got to pick their own (very) small present. Melissa was a great guide, she’s personable and kind, and felt like a member of the family. Highly recommend Melissa for your Arigato Travel food tour!

Our friendly guide Kentaro was well informed and provided us with many entertaining anecdotes. We were in small unusual restaurants. They fully adapted the program to accommodate my partners dietary requirements. It gave a feel for Japanese culture in Osaka. An enjoyable an interesting activity.

Osaka Food Tour with Matt O Matt was a great host. He was very knowledgable about local history and of course Osakan food. The tour was well paced and we sampled takoyaki, kushikatsu, taiyaki and several dishes in a bustling Izakaya. 3 out of 4 places were off the beaten track and only known to locals which was ideal. Thank you Matt for your company and expertise, a most enjoyable evening tour. The Bottomley and Smith group!

My husband, teenage daughter and I did the Kyoto food tour with Raquel from Arigato Travel and she was beyond amazing! We were a difficult family because my daughter has sesame and nut allergies, which are very prevalent in Japan. We went to four restaurants and each one was delicious and completely safe for my daughter. Raquel also had tremendous knowledge of Japanese culture and the foods there and she was extremely informative. If that’s not enough, she was also one of the most delightful people I’ve ever met. Definitely go on this tour and use Raquel.!!

While the weather was cold and raining, not ideal for a walking food tour our guild Wesley was amazing and took great care of us. He was a wealth of knowledge! He adjusted his plans to keep us out of the rain and we had an amazing experience! Highly recommend!

We had a brilliant evening with H.Mori. He was a great guide, with lots of information, that he made really personal to us. Being in a small group we could move at our own pace. The meal we had was the best one we have had since arriving in Japan.

Our food tour in Asakusa with Michie was great! She was so sweet and bought us to many great food places! The mini castella cakes with red bean were my favorite! She said that I should study in Japan to brush up on my Japanese, and I’m definitely considering it! She was very accommodating to my moms diet as well!

Great tour of Tsujiki Market. We started at a nearby Buddhist temple and then walked all over the market buying food samples for the lunch which capped off the tour. Very fun and educational with the expert help of our tour guide, Shigeki. There’s so much to see - highly recommend the sake flight and sampling different types of fresh fish and seafood!

Both Russ and Raquel were great. They made the whole tour a very enjoyable experience. We had a large party (12) with several children, plus some difficult food allergies to be mindful of, and Russ and Raquel went above and beyond to ensure everyone was satisfied and accommodated. Their knowledge of the local area was fantastic too. 10/10 would recommend!

We did the Nishiki Food Market tour in Kyoto, and had an amazing time! Our guide Ana Maria was very knowledgeable and warm, and she took us to some fantastic spots in the market. She also took great care to accommodate dietary preferences in our group (vegetarian, allergies, etc). The stops included a wide variety of goodies, including pickled veggies, spices, teas, skewers, and many desserts. Lunch was at a small traditional Japanese restaurant run by a husband and wife duo, which was really nice. All in all, great food experience and huge thanks to Ana Maria!

We had a great tour with Wesley today in rainy Tokyo. He showed us around Asakusa and we had some delightful street food. We loved learning about old and new Japanese culture, delicious lunch as Gonpachi overlooking the river. He was very patient with the kids and found things that would interest them too.
