Full of food!

Had a great evening exploring some restaurants with our guide, Mio. She brought good vibes to the tour and we enjoyed chatting whilst wandering the streets checking out the sights and trying some great food. Gave us an awesome recommendation for a brilliant backstreet curry restaurant too, which ended up being a great end to our time in Osaka the next evening. We also tried a couple drinks I might not have otherwise experienced, and continued ordering later into my trip. I was wondering what to expect with the food after checking a few of the lower star reviews, but if anyone is left wanting more to eat, that definitely isn't on the tour operator lol. We were all thoroughly stuffed full of delicious food and couldn't possibly have eaten any more.

Ray is a great and passionate guy. He gave us a great welcome on our very first day in Japan! Tour was interesting and food was great! Ray provided us with interesting info along the tour and he was a pleasure to be with! He’s a nice, chatty and fun guy..would totally recommend!

Excellent tour with an excellent guide !

Really good tour. Our guide, Clara was very knowledgeable and introduced us to important aspects of the japanese food culture. The tour goes around the maket, where the guide presents us all types of fish and products available there and tellss us about the story of the market. Do not have breakfast prior to the tour, you will eat a lot !

A great experience

We really enjoyed our sake tour with our guide Sanae. The museum was interesting, lunch was great and the tasting at the end was both interesting and great fun. But the highlight of the tour was Sanae, who was a wonderful, gracious and entertaining guide.

Great food and tour

Loved this food tour! Our guide, Natsumi, was very nice and had great info to share as we walked around Dotonbori. My friend and I loved all the food, and she was able to work with my vegetarian diet at almost every stop (the exception being takoyaki, which I expected). I loved anll the other food, especially the options she selected for us at the izakaya. This is our third tour with this company throughout Japan. I recommend them all! Thanks for showing us the great food and culture around Osaka!

Great tour, great guide, great food!

What a great tour! Our guide was fantastic! She took us through all the areas of the fish market and was very knowledgeable about the area and its history. She provided a wide range of different foods for us to try. It was a wonderful tour and I highly recommend it!

Shibuya food tour enjoyed by all

Our family of two (jet-lagged) teens thoroughly enjoyed the Shibuya food tour. Saika was a delight ep spend the afternoon with! We left with full bellies, some local gems and a new friend!

Great tour and picnic

A great tour of looking, tasting, shopping and picnicking. Jane also gave us some lessons in etiquette, which I can never hear too many times. I was not able to make the first half of the tour because I was feeling under the weather but Jane took care of my (young adult) children on her own and they had a great time. When I met up, my kids were educating me on everything Jane had already told them. I also loved that she took us to the stall of the first and only woman that has the license to do the fish shopping

Custom Tour Experience

Josh Fields and the amazing team at Arigato Travel worked with us to design our Tokyo and surrounding area trip to make it the perfect fit for us. Josh met with us online prior to our trip to help us plan out the itinerary and even rearranged things for us to fit in a bonus trip to Shizuoka. We had Josh and Wes as tour guides and both were super accommodating to the needs of our group (one with food allergies and one with bad knees). The support we received from the Arigato Team was just amazing. We never felt alone during our trip even when we were off on our own adventures. They answered questions, helped us find wonderful places to eat, shop, and explore all while sharing the beautiful history and culture of Japan. I highly recommend them.

Outstanding tour with a great tour guide

The short tour was a great exposure to the Nishiki Market in Kyoto and give us a different perspective of the place and details were pointed out that we would not see otherwise. Great food and drink tasting is of course a big part of this tour. Highly recommended!

Fun tour

Initially very unsure about the tour but the guide Ike was excellent and spoke very good English. A super knowledgeable guide and generally interesting person to spend an evening with.

So. Much. Fun.

What a fun — and tasty! — tour. Our guide, Sae, was absolutely delightful and knew so much about the area, the food and the local culture! She created a traveling party out of our group of 8 tourists, with each stop bringing new and surprising activities. At one stop, we learned about Japanese knives and at another we played arcade games! And of course we ate and drank! Such a memorable evening—a real highlight of our Japan trip!

Absolute Osaka food tour is a must!

Melissa was our fantastic host, she was very knowledgeable and personable. We visited 4 different places. Melissa used her knowledge and our preferences to bring together a fabulous food selection for us to taste. We had a generous selection of food and a couple of alcoholic drinks each during our evening. She took photos of us along the way to make it an evening to remember forever.

A great last night activity.

It was Natsumi's first solo tour and she did amazing! We loved the side stories about Japanese culture and history (like the baseball fans throwing a KFC statue into the river). She showed us a couple of shrines too. The food was excellent and she did a great job helping find things with our dietary needs. Personally I loved the part when she took us a couple of streets off of the main, busy street the best. But that's a preference. Natsumi even found a different dessert for us since we had the planned one a couple of times by then. She even helped us get back to the correct subway to get back to the hotel. Would definitely recommend this, especially if you don't mind crowds. That area of Osaka is as busy as Times Square.

Food Tour with Jane

We had a wonderful food tour through Shibuya with Jane as our guide! She took us to five fantastic spots, each with its own unique flavor and charm. Beyond the incredible food, Jane shared stories about the local art, history, and culture, adding so much depth to the experience. She was an absolute delight to spend time with—warm, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. Our group of eight had a range of food allergies and sensitivities, and Jane handled everything with such kindness and care. We’re so grateful for her guidance and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo!
