Great energy and lovely guide
We did the Pontocho Food Tour in Kyoto last week and had a really great time. ‘H’ was our guide and what a lovely, funny, knowledgeable man he is. We learned so much about Kyoto and, in particular, the Pontocho and Gion Shirakawa districts. We loved the food and drinks and it was so good to experience that part of the city on a busy Saturday night.

Wonderful food and neighborhood tour.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful day with our tour guide Ully. It was a joy to spend the day with her talking about not only Japan and its food and culture, but also about family and life in general. She is quite young chronologically but an “old soul” in terms of spirit and insight. Her knowledge of the local food and culture of the region was impressive and gave us a much better understanding and appreciation for the food of the region and how history helped to shape it. Thank you, Ully, for making us feel like we were old friends and family that you were taking on a private food tour!

Kawaii Tour Harajuku
Mein Mann und ich haben eine Food Tour in Harajuku, Tokio, gemacht. Unsere Guide Serena machte die Erfahrung für uns beide unvergesslich. Die Tour führte uns durch die Straßen von Harajuku, wobei wir nicht nur kulinarische Highlights, sondern auch historische und modische Hintergründe erklärt bekamen. Wir konnten zahlreiche lokale Spezialitäten probieren insgesamt fünf verschiedene Orte standen auf unserem Programm. Besonders gut gefiel mir, dass wir auch süße Leckereien testen konnten. Jeder Halt war ein kleines Highlight und zeigte uns die Vielfalt der japanischen Küche auf eine ganz besondere Weise. Insgesamt war die Food Tour eine perfekte Mischung aus Genuss, Kultur und Entdeckungen. Ich würde diese Tour jederzeit wieder machen.

Best possible tour of Osaka by Melissa!

Fabulous Evening Food Tour!
We were a group of 8 and were lucky enough to have the wonderful Alex as our guide. We were taken to six different restaurants - many we would never have found without doing this tour. Each restaurant served a different Japanese dish and again there were dishes we would not have tried if not on the tour. If you wish to experience local Japanese food and hear the history of the dishes and the Shibuya area this tour will fulfil. Thank you Alex, you were great fun and we loved it!

Best tasting tour ever!
We had a great tour tasting sake, whiskey and cocktails, along with very delicious food to go with it. Our guides Sebastian and Ron were the best!

Food tour with Ray
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour in Shibuya with Ray. He introduced us to some incredible spots we never would have discovered on our own — many hidden gems well off the beaten path. Ray was knowledgeable and inclusive - and he managed to activate our children, for whom he had small surprises. It was the perfect way to kick off our Japan adventure, especially after a day where we’d felt a bit lost in translation.

Ully, our guide, was excellent but not the restaurant.
Ully, our guide, was very nice and very informative. I would give her 5 stars. Didn't love the restaurant that was the final stop with the main meal. The chicken dish was heavily bread and deep fried with a flavor I didn't like.

Food , fun and an insight into life in Osaka , food for body and soul with Ike and Asly
Short time in Osaka and so lucky to have a tour arranged by Arigato and led by Ike and Asly , what a joy , exceptional people with a passion for Japanese food , they took us to places we would never have found and between stops gave us wonderful stories and a much greater insight into Japanese culture , yes great food but so much more , the highlight of a short stay in Osaka , we could not recommend them highly enough , many thanks .

Fascinating informative and fun
Aleef was our Guide in Hiroshima Not only was he extremely knowledgeable but also wonderfully engaging! He introduced us to Okonomiyaki (the Hiroshima signature ditch )in a building packed with sit down/bar restaurants!Fascinating We went to a number of other restaurants and finished way over his allotted time at the Hiroshima Octoberfest! We would recommend a guiding trip with him to anyone He really made our day! David &Petra

Breakfast Trip the the market and making Sashimi.
Jacob escorted us to a Japaneses temple and then through the Tsukiji Fish Market enjoying local tea and food. We met several vendors that were excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable about Japan and their food. He took us to a place where we had fun making Sashimi and eating it. The ladies that helped us were terrific. It was a pleasure, informative and fun.

An excellent tour, not to be missed if you’re in Osaka.
I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Our guide Russ was knowledgeable, entertaining and enthusiastic. We learnt about and ate some extremely delicious local food. We went back to our hotel feeling full and happy.

Fun food tour!
Our tour guide Yoshiko was absolutely amazing! My wife and I did this tour during our honeymoon, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire trip. From the moment we met our guide, they made us feel so welcome and comfortable, sharing not just information about the area, but also fun local stories and hidden gems that we never would have discovered on our own. The food throughout the tour was incredible — we tried so many delicious dishes, from mouthwatering sweets and desserts to savory bites like perfectly grilled chicken, rich and tender Wagyu beef, and all sorts of matcha treats that Kyoto is famous for. Every stop felt carefully chosen, offering something unique and authentic, and our guide’s enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable. We also learned a lot about the culture and traditions behind each food, which gave every bite more meaning. The pacing of the tour was perfect — not rushed, but full of flavor and discovery. By the end, we felt like we had truly experienced the heart of the city through its food. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting — especially couples looking for a memorable experience together.
