I joined the Katla Ice Cave tour yesterday, and what an incredible experience it was! ❄️ The whole day, booked through GetYourGuide, ran smoothly from start to finish. We also get a better price with discoun code TRAVELWIZZARD15 on GYG. It’s a 1 time use code so add all of your tours to the basket first before checkout 👌🏽 Our guide, Sylvester, was full of energy and humor, keeping everyone entertained while sharing fascinating insights about Iceland’s glaciers and volcanic landscapes. The adventure began with a super jeep ride that was as bumpy as it was fun 🚙💨 One of those rides where you can’t help but laugh and hang on as you bounce across the rugged terrain. Once we arrived, we were given crampons and helmets (all provided and easy to use), and a short walk took us into the heart of the ice cave itself. Stepping inside was surreal, layers of crystal‑blue ice mixed with streaks of volcanic ash, constantly shifting and glistening in the light. ✨ What I loved most was how accessible it was. The ice cave part is easy and suitable for anyone with moderate fitness, but it still feels adventurous and unique. The tour also included stops at some breathtaking south coast spots 🌊 like the majestic waterfalls and the famous black sand beach, making it a well‑rounded day trip that captures so much of Iceland’s beauty. I can’t recommend this tour enough! If you’re looking for something unforgettable, educational, and full of character, this is one experience that truly delivers. 🇮🇸💙

Very disappointing experience — lack of transparency and unfair refund policy I booked the Glacier Hike & Jökulsárlón Kayaking combo tour with Arctic Adventures for two people. The kayaking part of the tour was cancelled due to weather conditions, while the glacier hike took place. Of course, I fully understand that safety comes first and that an activity may be cancelled because of bad weather. That is not the issue. The real problem started with the refund. I paid 59,980 ISK for two tickets. After the kayaking activity was cancelled, I received a refund of only 25,020 ISK, which Arctic Adventures claimed was the value of the kayaking portion within the combo. However, this explanation makes no sense to me and feels extremely misleading. On their own website, the standalone prices were clearly shown as approximately: Glacier hike: €91 Kayaking tour: €129 So the kayaking activity is publicly advertised as the more expensive activity. Yet, when it came time to refund the cancelled kayaking part, Arctic Adventures suddenly claimed that, inside the combo, the kayaking portion was worth much less, while the glacier hike was worth more. Their explanation was that the glacier hike has higher operational costs because it requires more equipment, guides, preparation, and logistics. But if that is true, then why is the glacier hike advertised on their own website as cheaper than the kayaking tour when booked separately? The resources needed for the glacier hike do not magically change just because it is booked together with another activity. What makes this even worse is that they claimed the combo saved us around €36, but based on the prices shown on their own website, the difference between booking the two activities separately and booking the combo was only around €11 per person. So, from my point of view, the refund calculation was not transparent at all. It felt like the internal pricing was used only to justify keeping part of the money for an activity that was cancelled and never provided. A more honest answer would have been: “We do not refund the full value of the cancelled activity due to company policy.” Instead, I received long explanations that, in my opinion, only made the situation look worse and less transparent. I am extremely disappointed. The issue is not only the money, but the way the situation was handled. As a customer, I expect clarity, honesty, and fair treatment, especially when the cancellation is not my fault. After this experience, I would not book with Arctic Adventures again. I also strongly recommend that other travelers be very careful before booking combo tours with them, because in case one part of the tour is cancelled, the refund may not reflect the public price of the cancelled activity. In my opinion, this was an unfair and very disappointing experience.

We did the snorkeling in Silfa with them in - [x] Þingvellir National Park. Email communication was sent several times with where to park, meet and expect. Once there I was not prepared for the experience, the beauty of the drive through the park takes your breath away! Once you park you are surrounded by a waterfall, a hike and a small church! Use the restroom before check in! Once you are briefed you walk over to jump on the water, your guide takes lots of pictures, thank you Marcin! The water is so clear and colorful! There was no fish, which was shocking and true water is freezing, but you are so bundled up you only feel it in a few areas like face and hands. This is a once in a lifetime experience, to say you swam between the plates.
