Good to know
- Group tours require a minimum of 4 participants to commence. If this number is not met, an alternative date or a full refund will be offered.
- Tours are capped at a maximum of 8 guests per guide to ensure an intimate and personalized experience. We prioritize keeping booking groups together and may occasionally add 1–2 extra guests. Tours may also run with fewer than six participants.
- Approximately 90% of this tour takes place on the ancient Roman basolato (cobblestones) of the Appian Way (Via Appia Antica), with no vehicular traffic.
- A minimum level of cycling experience is required. Please note that the Appian Way is paved with ancient Roman basoli (cobblestones), not asphalt, which requires competence to avoid falls. Only two brief crossings on roads open to light traffic are necessary (to access the Aqueduct and Caffarella Parks).
- A short assessment test will be conducted before departure. The guide reserves the absolute right to deny admission to any participant deemed unsuitable due to lack of ability or health concerns. No refund will be issued in such cases.
- Upon return, guests will have the option to stop and purchase food at a nearby self-service/cafeteria restaurant (tavola calda).

Traveler reviews
An experience not to miss!
We had a full day ride with Allesso and it was exhausting but amazing. His knowledge of the area and the stories behind the road, the houses and the plants and flowers that we road by kept us engaged and in awe of the history we were traveling. 100% recommend the experience!
Daddy Daughter Italy trip 2026
What a wonderful experience! My 13 year old daughter loved the trip. Emanuele was an excellent guide that made the trip even better! Will definitely be looking to do another ride with you!
Perfect start to the day
Really lovely way to see a different side to Rome, Emmanuel was very enthusiastic and told us a lot about the area and it's history and clearly loved bike riding, beloved seeing the wild animals too and saw foxes, rabbits and a variety of birds. As the bikes are electric you only need low to moderate fitness. The cafe you start and end from is perfect for a coffee or breakfast when you are done. We would fully recommend this and well worth the early start!
