A Once-in-a-Lifetime Trekking Adventure in the Andes
The Premium Salkantay Trek was one of the highlights of our trip to South America. This tour takes you through breathtaking landscapes and to great accommodations. The physical exertion—especially combined with the high altitude—should not be underestimated. You should definitely spend a few days acclimating in Cusco beforehand and bring medication for altitude sickness just to be safe. Our guide, the food, and everything else were truly fantastic. I don’t think you could organize a trip like this any better. Everything just fell into place perfectly. Many thanks to everyone involved, especially Ramiro (our guide), who made this trek a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us. I highly recommend this trek to anyone looking for an adventure who is physically fit enough to handle it.
Magical experience on the Premium Salkantay Trek!
A wonderful trip with Salkantay trekking! Wilfredo was a fantastic guide, he was so patient, fun, and encouraging with our team! The hiking was challenging, but the vistas made it worth it! From the first day, it was an amazing adventure where you see such diversity in landscapes and get to rest in beautiful accommodations. The extra money for premium is worth it for a seamless experience from my perspective— Salkantay handles all the logistics of getting to and from Machu Picchu and the accommodations are worth it! My only note for folks is that the trek is difficult—I would recommend signing up for this only if you have hiking experience and are in good health before attempting, and plan to spend a few days in Cusco ahead of time to acclimatize. The team made it doable and it was totally worth all the hiking!

The 5D/4N Premium Salkantay Trek was one of the most memorable things I have done. Wilfredo was an extremely knowledgeable tour guide who made everyone in our group feel comfortable and prepared throughout the whole trek. Salkantay Trekking Company are a professional tour company.
