Our tours are a combination of train and luxury coach and include a moderate level of physical activity, such as short walks to meeting points etc. Unfortunately even the most modern luxury coaches (buses) are not wheelchair friendly, thus our tours are not suitable for those with mobility issues, and regretfully walkers, wheelchairs and mobility scooters cannot be accommodated on our tours.
Traveler reviews
Railtours ireland
Our exact tour was not listed, but we did a six day rail tours. Going to Killarney, Connamara, the Erynne Islands, and Giants Causeway. I have to command our tour guides, I don't have last names but we had John, Andrew, Peter, Tim, and Joe. They were excellent. Friendly outgoing, and extremely helpful. We only had one, and I won't mention his name who was less than friendly. Everything was reasonably well organized for such a lot of movement. Lots of bus riding, which isn't always the most fun, but we managed it. The trains were fine. We took a train from Dublin to Galway, and a train from Dublin to Belfast, the Titanic museum was great. Unfortunately, we had terrible weather for 90% of the trip, rain and cold, but that's no one's fault. We're leaving tomorrow and the weather has already warmed up in the sun came out today.
Great trip to Western Ireland
Wonderful tour! Our guide was Peter and he was VERY knowledgeable. The hotels we stayed in were fantastic! There was the right mix of touring and free time!! This is a must do!
The best of Ireland - Ask for Paul!
We had an incredible experience on our trip to Ireland! Traveling with a group of six can sometimes be challenging, but everything was seamless. A special shoutout to our tour guide, Paul O'Neill - he truly made the trip UNFORGETTABLE. His knowledge, personality, and ability to connect with our group set him apart. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, engaged, and experiencing the very best of Ireland. Simply put, Paul is THE BEST. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this company to anyone planning a trip. Five stars all the way!
Joy filled tour of Ireland
Just back from a really wonderful tour of Ireland. Our guide for Connemara and bus driver was excellent. Shane explained well the history of Ireland but best of all he spoke about the how and why of the many interesting things that were unique to the region. Norman our guide for the first few days kept us well informed. And John guided us happily and easily back to Dublin on the train. Thank you to everyone for making my holiday an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Wild Atlantic Way was WOW!
A friend and I recently completed the 4-day Wild Atlantic Way tour with Railtours Ireland. What a great experience! We were able to see and learn so much, starting out at Blarney Castle, touring the Ring of Kerry, battling the wind to climb up the Cliffs of Moher, and so much more! Paul was our tour guide for most of the trip and he was organized, knowledgable, fun, and clearly understood how to meet the needs of the group. He arranged lunches and stops at places of interest along the way each day. We also had, at times on the trip, Andrew, Sean the bus driver, and a few other characters. Everyone was super accommodating, kept everyone on schedule, and provided all the necessary information for us to get the most out of each day. We would highly recommend this tour if you want a good pace of travel and a nice slice of Ireland.
