Inca Trail

We had a great experience doing the Inca trail. The views were amazing and everything was so well organized. Elias was an amazing guide and led us through each stage of the journey with patience and was able to share his wealth of knowledge with the group. They were able to accommodate my gluten free diet as well! Would recommend to anyone up for a challenge! It’s well worth it

INCA trek and sun gate and Machu Pichu amazing experience.

Inca classic 4 day is the best trek ever for me. The fact that this trail was built by the IINCA’s and not a modern trail made is so sacred and special. The topography, the INCA sites was the best. Nature all along the trek from the rivers, waterfalls, greenery, birds flowers especially orchids was like no other for me. In my 60 it was challenging for sure but doable.. as our guide Henry made sure we enjoyed the trek and gave time for this. It was not like just a hike for the sake of hiking it was a wholesome experience. The camping and using camp sites was different but Salkantay/ Henry made it as comfortable as it can be made. Salkantay made the planning , booking and the tours and trek a great experience. Eduardo Andrade who helped with the planning and booking was amazing. We were a group wanting 4 different trek options and I was the point person for the group. Eduardo made this easy for me. He gave great advice and insight . He was always available and showed lot is patience dealing with all the questions. We as a group did the Super sacred valley tour and also the Cusco city tour. Sergio our guide was great and these tours were well organized. I recommend Salkantay trekking company for your Machu Pichu/ Inca trek/ and any tours in the area

Dario is the best!!

We were so thrilled with our experience with Dario Fuentes on the classic Inca four day trail. As the slower part of our group, he helped me pace and motivated me up the mountain. I would return to Salkantay Treking because of him; he provided support both before and during our hike and we felt extremely prepared for an adventure of a lifetime. I felt safe, supported, and encouraged throughout the duration of our hike. Dario knew so much to share about the history and legends. He was an absolute gem, with good humor and always making sure we could finish our hike safely. We also had a great porter group, who were amazing from start to finish. They even served pizza and cake on our trek, which was a lovely surprise! Thank you Moises, Leonce, Edgar, Sebastian, Aparicio, Vidal, Mario, and Juan for everything! We could not have had a better experience!

Intense but fun few days

Glad I did it. The food was amazing, the stuffed avocado on the first day was my favorite. The porters were kind and strong and would keep spirits high when they passed. Carlos was very knowledgeable about the history of the Inca trail and Machu Picchu.

Highly recommend Carlos, Wilfred and the Team at Salkantay Trekking!!

Hiking the Inca Trail was an experience I’ll never forget, and the biggest reason for that was Carlos. He wasn’t just our guide, he was the heart of the whole trip! Carlos is hilarious, full of energy, and just a genuinely great person to be around. He kept us laughing on the steep climbs, motivated us when we were tired, and shared so many fascinating stories about the history and the mountains. By the end, it felt like we were trekking with a close friend rather than a guide. Wilfred, our chef, was absolutely incredible. I still don’t know how he managed to cook meals that good in the middle of the mountains. Every dinner felt like a celebration, and after a long day of hiking, his food honestly made the whole experience even more special. And the porters, what absolute legends!! They worked so hard, always smiling, and made everything possible for us. From setting up camp to making sure our gear was ready, they were the quiet heroes of the trek. If you’re thinking of doing the Inca Trail, I can’t recommend Carlos, Wilfred, and the amazing team at Salkantay Trekking enough. They turned a challenging hike into one of the best adventures of my life, and I’d choose them again in a heartbeat.
