Felt we were traveling blindly
We booked this six months in advance- described to have English speaking tour guides. One week prior to our tour date we received a message stating the tour would be mostly Chinese speaking and the guide would speak very little English and told us we could cancel with a full refund if we chose. Being as this tour included our hotel and we had already booked airfare and other excursions during our time at Yellowknife we hardly could cancel seven days prior to travel without losing money on other things Very stressed that this company would switch up this tour on us so late in the booking and so close to travel date
Amazing and beautiful northern lights
I’ve been chasing and hunting the aurora borealis for a while now with no luck but this trip did not disappoint. The amazing colors of the northern lights were totally mind blowing. I never knew there was more than green and purple colors in this natural phenomenon. Bucket list ✅
MY BUCKET LIST
we saw some amazing aurora in 3 out of the 4 nights we stayed in Yellowknife. It was very cold but the sky was very clear and i saw a few shooting stars. I wore 2 snow pants and warm clothes and i have no problem staying outside watching beautiful skies for hours in -35 degrees. I learned that you can make some amazing video with timelapse on iphone. I am just thrilled that we were able to see beautiful aurora with our naked eyes. Its most unforgettable experience. I may go back next sept to watch it again before the lake freezes.
