Traveler reviews
Selling tours to monuments that are closed is bad business.
The driver was very knowledgeable and did his job well. However, we got to see about 1/2 the sites and were told AFTER we paid and boarded that NO Arlington. Do NOT take a monuments tour when 1/2 the city is closed off for America 250.
Don't go on holidays or special events
Don't do trolly on special event times. Half of the stops were closed and could not go to the Arlington Cemetery or most of the monuments. We got off first stop and took the metro to every where.
Colossal Disappointment
This was an extremely disappointing experience. Our Hop-on/Hop-off 21 stop trolley tour cancelled more than half the stops the night before we were scheduled to tour. We had been planning a trip to D.C. for a long time, and when the most important sights we hoped to see were no longer an option, it felt like it was a very expensive, wasted trip. Granted, it was the 250th Anniversary of America, but to have the news of cancellation of more than half the attractions dropped on me a few hours before tour time was difficult. I was given the option of a full refund, or pay full-price, which had already been charged, for less than half the original tour. I wish the offer of a 50% refund had been offered. I decided to go ahead and pay full-price for half the tour. The check-in process was efficient. We boarded the trolley and headed out. Our tour guides name was M Dot. While he was a very nice guy, he was impossible to understand. He was very mush-mouth in his speech and spoke so quickly you could barely understand a word he said. We completed this tour and immediately boarded the next trolley so we could actually decipher the commentary. This guide spoke clearly and we learned many interesting things.
Only way to see DC
Be flexible! Holidays and traffic can be a challenge to the driver but ours handled it perfectly. He was entertaining, knowledgeable and fun to be with.
Waste of Time
Once on the trolley we were told we would not get to see more than half of the 21 stops including Arlington Cemetery which is why we booked this more expensive tour to begin with. They should’ve informed us ahead of time so we could cancel with a refund or given us a discount since we got less than half of the tour. Guy giving tour was sarcastic. Definitely would not recommend and will never go again.
