Full description

Your Washington DC sweet adventure begins in the historic Foggy Bottom neighborhood, just steps from some of the capital’s most recognizable landmarks. Over the next two hours, we’ll make our way through the heart of the city, enjoying an incredible variety of donuts and sweet treats while discovering DC’s history, architecture, and culture along the way.

We’ll start inside Western Market, a modern food hall with roots stretching back to the early days of Washington. Our first treat is a New Orleans-inspired favorite: warm, fluffy beignets generously covered in powdered sugar. It’s a delicious way to begin before heading out to explore Pennsylvania Avenue.

From there, we’ll make our way east for our next sweet stop before continuing through one of the most historically significant areas of the city. As we walk, your guide will share stories about Washington’s development, the people who shaped the capital, and the famous streets surrounding us.

Throughout the tour, you’ll experience a variety of donuts, pastries, and other sweet creations, from classic favorites to more creative flavors and styles. Each tasting brings something different to the experience and showcases the variety found throughout DC’s growing food scene.

Between bites, we’ll explore bustling city blocks, impressive architecture, and landmarks connected to American history and government. Our journey takes us through the heart of downtown, within easy reach of some of Washington’s most famous sights, including the White House and surrounding landmarks.

Depending on the day of the week, season, availability, and size of the group, our exact route, stops, and tastings may change. That’s part of the fun. No matter which local favorites we visit or what treats are being served that day, you can count on one thing: it will always be delicious.

We’ll finish our adventure with one final sweet treat, providing the perfect ending to our walk through the nation’s capital.

Come hungry and ready to explore. This family-friendly tour combines beignets, donuts, pastries, Washington DC history, architecture, famous sights, and plenty of fun into one unforgettable sweet adventure.

The tour was quite long and it was difficult to keep the kids engaged. The donut store was the best stop where we got to choose a donut. At the rest of the stops the food items were pre ordered and we didn’t get a choice which was a bit disappointing. I was also unhappy that the tour ended at a different location to the starting point - we were handed a map and had to find our own way back. Having never been to Cork before, this wasn’t particularly easy and we had to run to catch our train back to Cobh.

Kat was a great guide. The donuts were delicious and she also included a lot of history of Toronto. The walk was an easy pace and gave us time to prepare for the next round. She provided us with other places to taste Toronto food and there was time to grab some of that food too. We loved the tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Toronto!
