Itinerary
You'll begin your journey at a traditional Venetian bacaro (wine bar) to taste a local classic: cicchetto, a creamy salted cod snack, perfectly paired with a glass of crisp, regional wine.
Sailing through the lagoon, we'll pass the serene and hauntingly beautiful island of San Michele. Your guide will share the history of Venice's iconic cemetery island, a unique landmark where the city's most illustrious figures rest.
We'll cruise to Sant'Erasmo, the 'garden of Venice,' for a true farm-to-table taste of the lagoon. You'll sample seasonal products grown in the unique local soil, paired with a glass of crisp, family-made prosecco.
Next, we indulge in a moment of perfect simplicity with a delicious, artisanal pizza. Enjoy your slice fresh from the oven, with a cold beer or a soft drink of your choice.
Sail through the Venetian Lagoon and enjoy unique perspectives of the city and its islands, while learning how it has shaped Venice’s history, culture, and maritime identity. Enjoy the sunset with a slice of pizza, while returning to Venice Mainland.
Your culinary journey culminates at a charming local eatery. You'll enjoy a signature primi piatti (first course) paired with a fine local wine, followed by a classic, creamy tiramisù for the perfect Italian finish.

Fantastic food tour of Venice
We had a fabulous afternoon with Gioele on a food tour of Venice. We meet at a restaurant on the water and had some wine and a wonderful appetizer. Then the boat met us and took us to Sant Erasmo island. We took a little tributary on the island to a local farm and had a taste of the fresh artichokes and local Prosecco. This experience was marvelous and one that would be very hard to find in any other tour. We then took the boat to another part of the island and to a hotel that had a woodfired oven and we ordered pizza and took it back to the boat and ate it on the way back to the main island. Following this we walked through Canareggio and stopped at a local Oesteria and had some delicious handmade pasta followed by delicious dessert. Gioele it was a great guide full of information about the history and all things Venice. I highly recommend this tour it’s very unique and wonderful to be able to explore parts outside of the mainland Venice.
Enjoyable Evening
Really enjoyed the guide and the couple driving the boat. Was very nice to get out of the main city. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my ad hoc questions about Venice and the history. English was very good.
A Real Taste of Venice, By Boat
Booked the food tour by boat with Eating Europe on our recent trip to Venice, and it ended up being one of the best things we did in the city. Exploring the food scene by boat was such a unique way to see Venice — it took us to places we never would have found (or reached) on our own, well away from the usual tourist crowds. Every stop felt like a real local's take on Venetian cuisine, not a tourist-trap version of it. Our guide, Gioele, was fantastic — warm, funny, knowledgeable, and clearly proud of his city. He wove in local history and food culture at every stop, and the whole tour had this personal, unscripted feel to it. It never once felt like mass tourism. The value was also excellent — so much food and wine included, it really felt like a full dinner along the way. We had an absolute blast and would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Venice who wants a real, authentic taste of the city. Thank you, Gioele!
Amazing tour with truly local experiences
An absolutely amazing tour with truly local touches. Our guide Joe was outstanding and I would do the same tour on repeat.

Our guide, Gioele, was fantastic. He did an excellent job putting the tour together. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and fun to talk to. This was a very memorable experience and a highlight of our trip to Venice.
