- Please be aware that the Sistine Chapel is a Holy Place and talking during your visit inside is strictly forbidden, therefore your guide will give you an explanation of the Sistine Chapel beforehand during your tour, in order to give you a comprehensive explanation before entering the chapel.
- No photos are allowed within the Sistine Chapel.
- Access to the Raphael Rooms is contingent upon crowd conditions, timing constraints, and guard-regulated routes. Including them may not always be feasible. In these cases, your tour guide will exercise discretion to adjust the itinerary, ensuring a high-quality experience.
- Backpacks are not permitted in the Museum.

Thunderstorms couldn't stop us from enjoying the Vatican!
As far as I am concerned, the best way to see the Vatican is after most of the crowds have left for the day. That way you're not throwing elbows the entire time. The tour met in a convenient location across the street from the Vatican and it was easy to find our guide, Francesco. We had a small group and the other three people we toured with were lovely. It was nice to have such a small group because we could gather close and actually hear Francesco - though we did all have radios and earpieces so that we could hear if things got noisy. Francesco was wonderful. He was so knowledgeable but also had a great sense of humor. When it started raining in the middle of our tour, he got us inside quickly and I think changed the tour around on the fly to keep us inside and dry. We highly recommend him as a guide. The artwork inside the Vatican is amazing. I kept seeing art that I studied in my art history classes in college. Of course the real gem is the Sistine Chapel and it was absolutely wonderful. We are from the U.S. so this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us, and Francesco and LivTours made it amazing.

Magical Vatican Tour with Fabulous Sara
Sara made our evening tour of the Vatican Museums and the Vatican an absolutely magical experience. Touring in the evening was incredible—the crowds were smaller, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the beauty of everything around us was even more breathtaking. Sara was exceptionally knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the history, art, and significance of everything we saw. She brought each room and masterpiece to life with fascinating stories and details that we never would have appreciated on our own. She also kept the tour well-paced, answered every question thoughtfully, and made sure everyone felt included. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. If you’re considering a Vatican tour, we highly recommend booking the evening experience and, if you’re lucky enough to get Sara as your guide, you’re in for something truly special. Excellent evening tour
Maria was excellent, very knowledgeable, fun and enthusiastic. Had a great evening tour, starter 5.30pm, ended 7.30pm. Was nice and quiet at that time!
It was very interesting...
It was very interesting and just amazing to see inside the Vatican museums. Going with a small group was worth the extra cost and you should definitely book ahead of time! Only thing I didn’t care for was I felt the guide was eager to get the tour over with because he talked super fast and kinda rushed us through the exhibits. He also didn’t take a group picture of us which would’ve been nice to see. He was definitely a wealth of knowledge, which was great.
